Knowing a thing and being told a thing are different and most people can’t tell which. Reformed Christian, Nostr class of 23, I think Host of The ContraCast Podcast https://fountain.fm/show/XRuDwbnAzVdjjchD4Veq

Nobody becomes your friend in one meeting. You just met a guy you don’t hate yet. Trust is what happens after a hundred small interactions where neither of you screwed the other one. Nostr is that, but with cryptographic receipts.

https://fountain.fm/episode/jXuDR0JVs8k0WmByjm0u You use it every day. Have you ever asked what it actually is? New Contra Cast. 40 minutes on whether AI is going to kill us, and the answer nobody in the doom camp or the hype camp will give you straight. If almost every person you know is now asking a machine the questions they used to ask God, a historian, educator, or their own hard won judgment, what exactly did we just hand over without noticing. Listen before you ask it one more thing.

Good morning! Let's start the day with a smile because, well, it confuses people.

the gap between what US leaders actually do around the world and what Americans believe their leaders are doing is one of the great propaganda achievements in history.

The question isn’t whether you’re capable of burning what you’ve built. You are. Everyone here is. The more interesting question is whether you’ve built something with enough integrity to survive contact with your own worst judgment. On Nostr the answer is public. #CurrentEvents

People treat Nostr like it’s bleeding their secrets. The relay isn’t spying on your post, it’s holding the post you walked up and yelled. Want something nobody stores? Don’t write it down and sign it. The fear isn’t of Nostr. It’s of the basic fact that public means public. If that’s too much, you were never going to like the open internet anyway.

Evil rarely shows up as a villain. It shows up as a system that profits while you and your neighbor are too busy at each other’s throats to look up. You’re allowed to refuse. You just decide the small stuff stays small and start treating the man across the fence like he might be on your side. Because he probably is. The whole apparatus runs on the assumption that you won’t think. That you’ll react and move on. The moment you actually stop and think for yourself, you become the one variable they can’t price in. They don’t fear your anger because they can sell you more of it. They fear that you might start thinking. Because at the end of the day they care what you think, and a man who thinks for himself is the most dangerous thing they’ll ever meet. Gm Nostr

Why don’t the 99% of us who aren’t offended by everything quit catering to the 1% who are? Also, GM

There is no such thing as a grouchy old person. The truth is, once you get old you stop being polite and start being honest.
