18 holes of golf with the wife in Idaho. Sat down at the 19th hole next to a table of 8-10 guys, all 60-70 maybe. Talking about a 20 year old girl who works at the golf club. Gutter mouth stuff. Loud about it, laughing, like it was clever. Boners and all.
I almost stood up. Wife right next to me. Wanted to ask them if they’d talk that way about their own granddaughter. Didn’t. Guys like that don’t hear you mid laugh, they just get louder for the table.
This is some of what we inherited from that generation. Along with the work ethic and the grit, we got men who never got told no and never grew out of needing to.
Not interested in being loud and small at 70, mistaking volume for respect.
Talk about women right when they’re not in the room. Don’t laugh along at the next table. That’s most of the job. Most men fail it quiet. Don’t.

The best part about traveling isn't the photos...it's the moments when you pause and think, I can't believe I'm actually here.
Idaho is awesome!

Real luxury isn’t a watch or a car anymore. It’s a clear head, a full night of sleep, a slow morning, and a quiet house. Everything about modern life is built to take those away from you.
You don’t need money for any of it. You need to turn things off and mean it.

Off to worship the living God!

Anon,
Wherever you find yourself right now, I pray for you and your family. May you find rest and peace in your circumstances and life. I appreciate every one of you that gives any attention to what slop I may speak from time to time.
God bless.
It's a mistake to think prayer is a call to passivity. Prayer should make us bolder, not more passive.

Governments worldwide are struggling to contain a new virus that could have a huge impact on billions of lives worldwide.
The virus is called TRUTH.

Slavery in Scripture is never treated lightly. It’s the very image God uses for Israel’s condition in Egypt, and the deliverance He worked is the pattern for redemption itself.
But the Bible also warns of a subtler bondage. “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender” (Prov 22:7). No chains, no auction block, just a system where debt and a currency that loses value by design keep men working for masters they never see.
We were bought with a price (1 Cor 6:20). That’s true spiritually first. But it should shape how we think about money, debt, and what freedom actually costs.

A free society is not destroyed by disagreement. It is destroyed when men value social comfort over truth. The agreeable man trades conviction for acceptance, calling avoidance “peace” and conformity “virtue.”
Without the courage to challenge, institutions decay, liberty erodes, and false harmony replaces genuine order.

It’s my birthday! All these years the Lord’s carried me through.
Grateful for my wife, my boys, and the handful of you here on Nostr who make the days sharper. Following isn’t the point. You are.
