Mute me, block me, tell me I'm wrong to my face. Do all three. What you can't do is have me removed, and neither can anybody else, and that's worth more to me than a million people I'd never talk to anyway.
Hard money underneath, real people on top. I'll build here.

Shawn Ryan on his podcast has been open about going through psychedelic treatment. A lot of guys out of that world have. I know some of them. And the accounts keep landing in the same place. Something was in the room. Something spoke.
I don't think they're lying.
The old Reformed Christians had a category for this and it wasn't "bad trip." Pharmakeia in Galatians sits right next to idolatry and sorcery. The problem was never the plant. It was going looking for a door God already nailed shut.
What bothers me more is the fascination. Encounter turned into episodes, told and retold. The tradition treated curiosity about the demonic as part of the same sin, not a safe balcony seat above it.
But I won't tell you a man is guaranteed to pick something up because he sat in a ceremony. Nobody gets to promise that. Job 1 is the whole framework for this. Nothing moves without permission from the throne, and the enemy is a creature on a leash, not a second god.
Some of what gets reported has ordinary causes too. Depersonalization is real. So is psychosis that was already loaded and waiting. Providence runs through secondary causes and the honest answer is usually that you don't know which one you're looking at.
The remedy Christianity offers is boring on purpose. Repentance. The Word preached. Prayer. A church that knows your name. No formulas, no binding sessions, nothing you perform.
Not a hair falls without the Father's will. That covers the ceremony and everything that came home with you.

America's next growth industry is betting on itself. But a contract that pays on an event creates a paying customer for arranging it, and we're scaling that across rates, wars and elections.
Which is the case for owning something nobody can decide the outcome of.
Derek's framing is right, and the interesting part is why.
The chain confirms possession. It can't confirm consent. A bug in Elements produced a valid signature over an invalid claim, and a transaction being valid says nothing about the authority standing behind it. Code executes. It doesn't adjudicate.
So "white hat" is a claim about intent, and intent is the one variable nobody can verify onchain. Everyone else in this ecosystem gets told to prove it. He gets an exception because he described himself that way in an OP_RETURN.
Maritime law settled this problem a long time ago. A salvor who saves a drifting ship is owed something real, and the award gets set by a tribunal, not by the salvor selling off part of the cargo and calling the remainder a return. The moment the rescuer prices his own service out of the property he's holding, the rescue becomes something else.
The 598 is that moment. Blockstream can still pay him, and generously. That call was always theirs to make.

....we don't give up around here.
Modern travel these days is a hollow performance.
Most of the world doesn’t travel to see the world. They travel to show the world they were there.
They have traded the soul of exploration for the validation of strangers.

The Architecture of Power. Chapter 1. Before America
1,000 sats - A banker bought an emperor in 1519 and got wiped out by the emperor’s grandson. How money learned to cross borders, and why the smal...
Nobody ever taught you where money came from. You got told it exists, that a building in Washington looks after it, and that was the lesson.
I’ve spent years reading, watching and listening to the real history. How a merchant in 1560 paid a man in Venice without moving a single coin. How England figured out it could fund a war on money it didn’t have yet. How five brothers in five cities beat the newspapers by a day and what that one day was worth. How the dollar stopped being redeemable for gold and the whole world kept using it anyway.
Notes piled up in a folder. I kept meaning to do something with them.
So I’m doing something with them strictly on @Fanfares
The Architecture of Power. Fifteen parts on how the money machine got assembled, starting four hundred years before America existed.
I’m not the expert here. Plenty of people have forgotten more about this than I know. But most of them write for each other, and if you’ve got a job and kids you don’t have three years to spend on Braudel.
You already know the money is broken. You might not know how it got that way.
Every claim gets labeled. Documented, strongly supported, contested, or speculative. When something wild turns out to be real I put the paper on the table. When it doesn’t hold I say so, even when we all want it to.
What’s a fair price you would pay in Sats for each episode? I’m prepping to release #1 today
I don’t necessarily dislike my neighbors I live next to, but I often imagine a small town with MOST of us like minded individuals and families and the absolute damage we could do to this culture if we lived by each other.
For now, the revolution stays in very very small corners of the internet.
Answering the dumb question for a new guy costs you maybe a minute at best. That time may buy you somebody who stays for the long haul. Cheapest thing you’ll ever build. Friendships. Build em.
Gm Nostr.
Broke down and bought a Melin hat. I must say, it’s pretty legit and so far worth it.

Sometimes I’ll just go down my feed and zap everyone without even reading the note. Just to remind myself I can literally send bitcoin this easily and freely.
