Be like a Venus Fly Trap. Something I could benefit from. Learn from natures intelligence, it doesn’t always need to snap or act instantly. Nature waits, gathers data, relies on its senses. When it has its information, then it responds. Everyday I find myself realizing I’m too addicted to the instant everything. I react too quickly. I need to take time to pause and respond with wisdom, feelings, and intentions. Not everything needs to be instant. Sometimes the best move we can make is to wait.

Before this school year started we decided we wanted our kids to focus on getting better at art, focusing on fine art skills. Check out a watercolor one of ours did today! #homeschool #watercolor #art

Kids taught themselves all about reptiles through a genuine curiosity and desire to learn. They researched about what would be the best breed of snake for them, their habitat, diet, and home. They create little structures for her tank instead of buying them. All self taught AND remembered then put to use. All on their own. All under 10. The snake is still alive and thriving a year later. Love this style of #education they’re getting!

#Homeschooling allows my kids to sleep the appropriate amount of time, eat high quality foods for all of their meals, and time to be curious and creative during and outside of “school”. I’m sure you’ve seen similar posts by way too many people, but it’s because the impact of homeschooling is truly remarkable. At our holiday parties we noticed our kids were confidently engaged with conversations, listening, and asking thoughtful questions. Homeschooling in December has been so nice. Slowing it down, taking time for slow starts and not feeling the rush to check so many things off the list. Kids are still learning just as much - not sure why this is only a “December” thing.
