Ya’ll want to hear an interesting Internet mystery? Anyone remember the Disney Channel movie, Brink!? Recently rewatched with my kids. There’s a unaccredited punk rock song by an unknown band in the movie that spawned a 27 year search for the track. Apparently people contacted the director, the music supervisor, etc and nobody was able to identify the band or song. Everything is all zen when you’re doing yoga in a conducive environment but have you ever done a power flow with two kids scampering about? Weaving underneath your downward-facing dog, tugging on your leg while in Warrior III? Climbing on your back when you do your Chaturanga…or how about just general yelling and chaos? This is the true test of yoga: to be able to quiet the mind, find balance and flow amongst chaos. When we try for a “family yoga night” it always results in chaos but I appreciate it. The second layer lesson is learning to keep the mind quiet during external noise and chaos no matter what circumstances.
