For anyone curious, these are the settings I’ve been using for my vlog videos. My personal preference is for FPS over bitrate, and 540p has been a “good enough” resolution for mobile (which is probably where most people will be watching these). #vlogstr image

In this morning's vlog when I suggested vibe coding a simple site for grandma to see your dog photos from your Nostr feed, it wasn't just an idea 😉 View quoted note →

Generally, this. Be an “Uncle Jim” for people you’re close to in meatspace but unless you have Harvey Specter on retainer don’t let randos upload their garbage to your boxes. View quoted note →

5AM BERRY PICKING LETS GOOOOO!!! Yesterday the dog got me up at 1:30 to use the bathroom, and because my brain is such a nice guy that was it for sleep for me. So at 5 I got the dog up (he wasn’t very happy about it, too bad for him!) and we went up the hill for sunrise to beat the heat. The trees are so thick with berries that the branches are leaning over. You can grab clusters of them that fill your hand. We didn’t pick a huge amount as we needed to be back in time to make pre-work coffee for Tassie. Pippin signalled it was time to go with his widened bulldog stance and a stare, and back down the hill we went. Didn’t stop me from grabbing drive-by handfuls for breakfast as we walked past more bushes… Inspiration hit after a nap and the Sawmill Creek Cottages Cookbook came out for a muffin recipe. I could have gone heavier on the butter (isn’t that always?) and the papers weren’t cooperative (I’m going to try some expensive ones next time for comparison) but the fresh saskatoons still pulled their weight. 10/10 will try to get up the hill at least once more this season.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this ‘till now. It would solve a lot of my problems. image
