Here’s how I’d run a 50,000,000 sat nostr marketing campaign… Coming from someone doing +$10M monthly client revenue on TikTok. Let’s break it down. For example sake, let’s say we’re running a campaign for @Paul Saladino MD ‘s brand, Heart & Soil (with a 0.5 btc budget) Step 1: First we’re going to identify 100 relevant nostr creators and negotiate terms of posting. Let’s say 100 creators at 300,000 sats per note each. We’ll spread out the posting times over the course of a month… about 3 per day. Nothing groundbreaking so far… but here’s where things become a bit different than your typical social media campaign… Instead of paying creators offline, Heart & Soil would zap 300,000 to each creator - publicly visible on their note. This does 2 things: 1️⃣ Increase visibility on that note (more zaps = more traction) 2️⃣ Increase positive sentiment of the brand (i.e. “this brand supports nostr creators”) If you see a note about a brand, then that brand zapping 300,000 sats, this will get your attention. Step 2: Top of funnel 👀 We’re going to allocate 10,000,000 sats to “bulk zapping” The plan is to send 21 sats to nearly 500,000 notes over the course of a month. I’d probably attach a message like “Eat your organs” or something like that to each. The goal here is to drive eyeballs and awareness to the account. Step 3: Profile and bio set up. Think of this like a funnel. We’re going to be getting tons of eyeballs to the account… Now, what we do with that attention is key. First thing, let’s repost all of the creator notes to get social proof on the account. Secondly, let’s get our bio set up. It should say something like this: “The most nutrient rich supplements on the planet. Goal of sending 10,000,000 sats (currently at 1,342,091). Tag us and we’ll zap you! Use code NOSTR for 10% off.” The goal is to turn buyers into creators and set the precedent that Heart & Soil zaps all creators. I’ve noticed that there is a ritualistic posting style on Nostr - the good morning notes, coffeechain etc. We want to get this style of note going for Heart and Soil. Allocate 10,000,000 sats to just zapping customers that post the product on nostr. What do we think - would this work? Would brand campaigns be a complete flop on nostr? What would you do differently? image

I sent another +60,000 sats today as a test… (And might have even broken a few things 😬) Day 3 of my zap-vertising experiment: 1️⃣What I did 2️⃣What I learned 3️⃣What comes next Let’s recap: On day 1 I sent 60,000 sats - primarily large quantities (on average +300 Sats)... My thinking was that if I was the top zap on trending notes, I’d get a lot of visibility. I ended up growing by 87 followers. I posted a full day 1 breakdown, and that note started getting a ton of traction on it’s own. Since I was gaining momentum from that alone I figured I’d pause the zapping experiment until that died down… thus, no day 2 recap. Today I went for a very different strategy… 1️⃣ What I did: This time I went for Quantity > Quality I sent (or tried to send) +6000 zaps at about 8-10 sats each (my goal was 60,000 sats total). Truthfully, I have no idea how many sats were actually sent… A lotta shit broke. First, I was using zapadd.com to send bulk zaps This was quite unreliable. I think I lost probably 30k-40k sats in the process. I have no idea how many zaps were ultimately sent but I think a few thousand. I will say, the developer who built it was super helpful with support and did offer to refund everything. According to him, this might have caused some issues with the primal wallets today. I’m not technical and have no idea what actually happened other than shit didn’t work and people couldn’t zap me (and maybe many others) for a while today. In terms of the message - I went with “sending love” instead of “testing something” Optimizing for vibes. Results: Gained 152 new followers… about 395 sats per follow… ~$0.37 SOLID. 2️⃣What I learned: Value 4 Value. What really got the most traction on my account was my recent note. And that note cost a whopping 0 sats. Good content wins. Regardless of where this zapvertising experiment goes, there is no replacement for good content. Learning numero dos: Nostr is such an infant. The infrastructure feels so new and delicate. It’s kinda wild that there is no reliable way to allocate $50 to growth. What excites me the most is that I can help to shape that future… Picture this - it’s only a matter of time before there are companies on here that want to allocate 10,000,000 sats per day to growth and exposure… I want to help shape what that system could look like. (P.S. - I’m looking for some technical counterparts to help build here! Slide in my messages if that's you.) 3️⃣ What comes next: Something I haven’t tested yet is direct linking in zaps. I think these will probably come off a bit more spammy - especially if it's straight to a product page… I’m working through some creative ideas to make it so it’s still well received (The “sending love” was very well received today) What I really want to see is if I send 100,000 sats, and each zap has a direct link, how many clicks will that drive? Will keep you all posted 🫡🫡🫡 image

What are economic incentives here for devs/builders? I’m assuming most devs are just donating time to build freedom tech. Also assuming there are mostly open source/non profit projects and a few for profit… can someone share examples of each? Is there a negative connotation around profitable companies in this space? Something I like a lot about nostr… There’s no rules. There’s no boss. Want to try something? Do it. Want to build something? Build it. You don’t need to ask. The collective will decide what it wants and what it doesn’t.

I sent 60,000 sats today as a test… Here’s what happened, what I learned, and what I want to test next: First off, I’m new to nostr, but things here excite me - I want to experiment, connect, and build. In the last 24 hours I sent: -199 zaps - 60,000 sats - Average of 301 sats per zap - Second most sats zapped on the day What happened: - Gained 87 new followers - Cost per follow 689 sats (~$0.65) - Super high signal followers (people building on Nostr, Founders, etc.) After doing a bit of research, it appears follower campaigns on X average around $1-2 per follow 🤷 I decided to mainly use “testing something…” as the text that goes along with the zap… not super direct, but was hoping that it was enough to peak curiosity… I almost decided to go with “quick question” which probably would have performed better, but also pissed more people off at the same time… That’s another thing I noticed, there is definitely a % of users who really hate all things related to this zap-vertising concept. My next test: Today I zapped 199 total zaps with an average of 301 sats per zap. Now, I want to try sending several thousand zaps, with an average sats per zap around 10 or so… We’ll see how it goes 🫡 image

Is Zap-vertising effective on Nostr? And is bringing advertising $$$ to Nostr a potential catalyst for network growth? Advertising $$$ —> More creator compensation —> more creators —> more users —> network growth? 🤔🤔🤔 I’ve found myself spending most of my thinking power concentrated on Nostr recently. Feeling like a kid in a candy store on here with all of the possible things to build. I wanted to get an experiment up quickly to get my wheels turning… So here’s my simple experiment to kick things off: I’m going to spend 500,000 sats in the next week, using the zapvertising model, measure the results, and provide updates here… Tracking new followers, cost per follow, and eventually website clicks, email opt-ins, cost per click, etc. What I’m looking to answer: Can "zapvertising" become a viable model? Let's find out. Follow along for the journey. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I bought everyone in my family bitcoin for Christmas in 2022… None of them still have that bitcoin today. Where I went wrong: Sent it to their Coinbase wallets… This year, I decided to get Bitcoin for everyone’s Christmas gift again… But this time, I’m going cold storage, locked away. No one is allowed to touch it for 20 years. 🤝

Last year at this time, my company had 4 employees. We now have 31. And there’s ONE specific position that unlocked an exponential amount of growth for us: An Executive Assistant. (I didn’t even know what this was a year ago.) I recommend hiring this role from the Philippines (onlinejobs.ph is what we use.) Don’t cut corners with budget. Pay the premium and get an elite assistant. Should run you $2-3k per month. Look for previous experience. They need to be able to onboard themselves. Their #1 goal is to amplify your time. Your interview process should do 3 things: 1. Give them enough context of your day to day, tasks, company goals (so they can do steps 2 and 3) 2. Have them create their own onboarding plan and 90 day roadmap. 3. Have them prove to you that they will save you +20 hours per week. Thank me later.

Heyoo Nostr! I’m Mike. #introductions I’ve been building Brands Meet Creators for the past 3 years. We’ve built a network of nearly 100,000 content creators. Our network currently generates between 1-2% of all sales on TikTok Shop. I’ve been traveling around Central America the past few years and just recently moved to Miami. I discovered Bitcoin in 2019, and it’s been one of those passions that I’ve kept private. Publicly, I talk a lot about social media growth, creator networks, business, and content monetization. Nostr feels like the intersection of those two worlds. I’m excited to be here, learn, explore, and connect 🙏🏽 image
