Just released version 3.1.7 of the #BTClock firmware which adds the option to get blocks and price data using Nostr (thanks to @rblb 's work on Nostrduino), next to the public dataservice at https://ws.btclock.dev or your own node (requires your own mempool.space instance). The default followed pubkey is set to @BTClock Price & Block Publisher NG but you can set any pubkey/relay that you want (also open to feedback, it publishes data as kind 1 at this moment which already got the publisher some spam reports). For many years, the largest Dutch banks illegally shared transaction information because they thought this was justified in their role to “prevent money laundering and combat terrorist finance”. Thanks to some brave fighters, which named this activity what it actually it is: “cybercrime”, it seems they realized their activities are actually illegal according to privacy and AML laws applicable in the EU. Today they announced will stop these illegitimate activities. Congratulations to the Human Rights in Finance foundation and Dutch citizens and companies in general for this great win. I hoped I could share an article in English about this important matter but for now only Dutch media outlets are giving this any attention. To everyone, never give up and keep fighting for your privacy. Even after working 8 years at a bank, I feel it’s quite insane to how traditional banks think they can use clients’ transaction data how they please. Banks are not systemically relevant. Opt out.
