Haven with a GUI and packaged for Umbrel? YES PLEASE! View quoted note → Yesterday I asked if anyone was willing to go in with me on putting out a bounty to make this happen, and @Geektoshi decided to just build it. Don't worry, I will definitely throw that 100k sats your way, sir, if this thing does what I am hoping. Here's what I am looking for: - Installable on Umbrel from a community app store. - All .env configuration done from a GUI. - Full Haven relay features working. That means all four relay types + Blossom server, with note import, blastr on the outbox, etc. - Can expose the relay via Tor or reverse proxy with Nginx at minimum, preferably also via Tailscale MagicDNS. If achieved, this would open it up to MANY more people running their own Haven relay, keeping Nostr decentralized and censorship resistant.

There is a difference between something being difficult and it being unfamiliar. Most things people think are difficult are just unfamiliar. That applies in Bitcoin, Nostr, and innumerable other contexts. In such cases, a little time, practice, and explanation of key concepts will make what seemed difficult easy. Truly difficult things are those feats of skill, strength, or intelligence that no amount of familiarity will render easy to accomplish.

Who would go in with me for putting out a bounty for someone to package Haven realy for Umbrel, with a GUI for editing the necessary .env variables? Haven is intended to be a relay for individual users, so they have their own public outbox, public inbox, DM inbox, and private relay, plus their own Blossom server, making them effectively censorship proof, especially if their relay can run behind Tor. The only issue is, setting it up is not user-friendly, so only those with some significant technical chops end up running it. I am prepared to put 100k sats toward a bounty for a one-click install version of Haven for Umbrel, with a GUI for configuring relay owner NPUB, relay icon, blastr and import relays, etc. Anyone else who would like to see this happen and would be willing to add to a bounty? #asknostr

@sudocarlos or anyone else who might know. Is there a guide anywhere for getting the docker version of Haven up and running on Umbrel using Portainer? If not, would someone with the know-how be able to give a rundown? #asknostr

This! If Bitcoin could exclude state actors from owning it, it wouldn't be good money, any more than if it could exclude criminals from using it. Heck, most of the time the two are synonymous. View quoted note →

I know there are tools for turning RSS feeds into #Nostr npubs, so you can follow them in your favorite Nostr client. Are their tools for going the other direction, too? Say I want to add @Laeserin 's long-form notes to my favorite RSS reader? Is there a way to convert her kind 30023 note feed into an RSS feed that any RSS reader can display? I suppose the best option would be to just use a Nostr compatible RSS reader like Narr, since regular RSS readers wouldn't know what to do with any Nostr URIs within the articles. #asknostr
