Thank you very much for this great longform article. Really a great read.
I would say the information revolution has the power to change a lot.
1. Never as many people could read as today.
2. More people are connected to the internet.
3. Open resources to educate are getting better (take all the kurzgesagt videos or TED talks freely available as an example)
4. I agree that within history Democracy is an anomaly and Anarchy has been mostly destroeyed and effectifely defamed by horrible narratives.
5. Current circumstances of several houndred millions of people living in free societies paired with a lot of tendencies of growing surveillance could be a great catalysator for groundbreaking spread of anarchistic ideas to spread. Maby we are at a great time of humanity where we can create anarchistic subcultures which oppose authoritarian tendencies and grow slowly but consistently. Maby we can sustain the growth through education and analysis of suthoritarian states to stimulate the investments.

How to learn my philosophy:
Start with some critical thinking on youtube with "TEDed the deomon of reason" miniseries
Start with Immanuel Kants techings, follow stoics, also very nice to read "happy" by Derren Brown, add dao techings to it
Follow this up by Podcasts like Darknet diaries and Jon Harbinger
On Youtube watch TEDx talks, Veritassium and Huberman Lab

Have you ever thought, that facts can not be objectively positive or negative?
You as an individual interpret them as good, bad or "doesn't matter".
And you do this rationally or emotionally.
When more than 50% of the facts you hear, you get an angle to think positively about it, you can consider yourself an optimist. When it is less a pessimist. And when most does not matter to you, maby check your empathy.
But it does not make you any more realist, when you are more pessimistic or optimistic. A realist is only a person that bases his worldview and opinion on facts.

I see only spam from users I am not following since the newest update.
Why should any note be displayed that is not from a user I follow?

Many think, when someones action hurts everyone, I do not have to defend it. Like when someone litters trash in front of my eyes to the street. Since it is the same bad for everyone who walk along the street. But to make our society sustainable, we have to take every action personally, which is bad for us. Since when we do a lot of people stand together to defend public good. While a small number of people who do walk against public good are easy to handle.
This is nothing against personal freedom. But against antisocial behaviour. Sometimes we have to learn to defend public good as if it is personal good. Since we are part of society also every public park is part of our space...
#surveillance #power #totalitarian #hope
Everyone knows: Information is power.
So: more information ~ more power
So inherently, state surveillance does lead to a powerful institution.
Power can be used to go against criminals. But there is no clear incentive to use this power for this purpose only.
Inherently this power will always be used to defend or increase the power. This is following Niklas Luhmann's system theory.
So whoever is giving a company or a institution the private information willingly or unwillingly should have this thought active. It is very likely the power will be used to defend the power, while the incentives to use it against criminals is at most a hope.
Really nice. I think it is great for relay owners to get to decide what will be broadcasted over their relay.

"controlled by a small group of anonymous individuals who operate with little transparency or accountability." DePaço says.
How to be more transparent than Wikipedia in what changes are made for what reasons. I mean this is a lie of a person that did not invest into Wikipedias working obviously. Whoever reads through a history source of Wikipedia can see part for part when what was changed.
Yes correct mostly anonymous/pseudonymous (eighter linked to a IP-Address or an email). But there are very clear rules on what has to be referenced in Wikipedia to alter an article. When he is concerned, that the article to his person is not according to truth, he would rather bring up his proof and other arguments, what parts are wrong and correct them accordingly.
