View quoted note →
Really nice blog from the Documentfoundation on how to migrate Microsoft Office Document formats to open document format. Maby someone can make use of this, when not yet migrated to a free document writer suite. I personally just found out, that Libre Office also offers an easy to use GPG-signing process for odf-documents.
I really prefer thinking in spectra instead of binary. I also do not really believe in a sustainable system change through rapid revolution. I know how it is to be young and to want to change everything today instead of tomorrow. But currently I rather prefer slow change that lasts for long. So I was thinking about the spectrum of total voluntarism on one side and centralized authoritarianism on the other side of the spectrum. Voluntarism as the pole, where every individual acts only on the bases of free contracts. Where every individual freely decides to participate in what ever society, club, work and other social cooperation. No tax, no central authority. All power, wisdom, every decision and all responsibility is within the individual. On the authoritarian side of the spectrum, one single person or entity (could be AI) makes all decisions and holds all responsibility. But is on the other side also the only person that executes orders. So all people outside this controlling entity/personality are only pawns within the worldwide game the authority plays. I have the hypothesis, that all social systems active on our earth are somewhere in between these poles. And every single one of us makes decisions that favor one of these poles to grow. People that are happy to take responsibility in their own hands mostly favor the idea of voluntarism, while people which give away responsibility give more opportunity for authoritarianism. But also people that deny the responsibility of others and decide over them put themselves in the place of an authority. When this happens without consent it is a clear step away from voluntarism too. My point is that there is never a tipping point, which leads to sustainably favor one or the other pole. We will always live in this spectrum. And when we want to allow to as many people as possible, to live their lives in freedom, it is great to work towards voluntarism. I think democratic policy making is not perfect. Maybe it is not even good. But it also is very easy to proof, that it is closer to voluntarism, than any non-democratic form of governing.
For all who use Telegram often. There seem to be attacks ongoing targeting mostly russian users, to install Malware on Android phones through apps covered by big brands like Whatsapp and social media. View quoted note →
I always think #chess was a very valuable game, since I started playing it. But. did not know playing chess makes you actually smarter. Anyone who reads this can go on their live without playing some games of chess?
I did only today figure out, that in #DuckDuckGo , and probably other search engines as well, one can click the three dots beside a search result and give feedback to it. Too sad, that one can only give negative critique in this feedback. But maby they only want to filter out results based on certain filters. So this is might fair.
@Timothy Allen I just found a very well written article about anarchism, definition of the state and arguments against the existance of state in favor of private institutions. https://mises.org/mises-daily/society-without-state Your note defnitly triggered something in me and wanted to thank you for this. I hope within my lifetime enough anarchistic areas exist so that all those theories can be examined, if they still proof to be real when put into practice.
