You ever have one of those days where every fucking time you start to make a little progress, something breaks and sets you back to an hour back to before you even got started? I’ve been there at least 3 times today. And now the construction guys just cut the fucking internet. The show is going to be down for a few days just because I don’t think I have the energy for anything anymore. If another device breaks down on me inexplicably I might just put every electronic device into a pile in the backyard and set it on fire. Hope someone else out there is having a good day

Everyone needs to watch this to get a dose of sobriety. I think we have already become jaded with what the internet is, and we forget just what a revolutionary thing it is, and why so many of the things we despise or try to act as if we are "above it" are crucial elements to the entire reason why we are here. This is ALL about connecting people. The goal isn't to remove that, or evolve beyond it, its about regaining OUR control over the reigns of our connections, what we see, who we talk to, and what we say. An incredible technology of connection, has become a technology of control, and we need to redesign it as a technology of freedom. Anyway... its just a good video 😆

Work within the world according to what *actually is,* not what you wish it would be or what sounds good. Look honestly at the world. The world is messy and there are no perfect solutions. There are only trade offs. BUILD with principle, set goals according to what you wish and want to see in the world. But do not delude yourself about reality or you kill your chance of actually achieving what you hope for.

Every time you think that these huge centralized platforms have too much power, remember that almost none of them provie direct services anymore. Facebook doesn't create its posts Uber doesn't drive its customers around Airbnb doesn't wash the linens in your rental Youtube doesn't film their video library All of these platforms only have the power of the content and engagement that WE give them. Without us, they are worthless. Never forget that the simple act of leaving and taking our creations, media, engagement, and our value somewhere else, will turn them into nothing overnight. This is why decentralization is the only path forward. There is no alternative.
