Want to read an episode from the everyday life of an artist? 😄
Actually, I just wanted to do nothing for once...
But instead, I ended up organizing an art transport. 💪
I'll try to keep the story short.
After Prague and talking to a lot of people, I suddenly found myself with the opportunity to exhibit in the US - even if I only send my artwork and don't travel there myself. That's possible because I trust a dear Bitcoin friend to manage everything on the other side.
I checked the shipping options with "the Bitcoin-fulfilling plebs." They can ship my artworks to Chicago - but only from Stuttgart.
So now I just needed a way to get my 100 × 100 × 25 cm, 25 kg crate from Switzerland to Stuttgart.
I asked around in every local Bitcoiner chat I could think of, and luckily there was a Swiss Bitcoin conference in that weekend. It's on the way to Stuttgart.
I found two drivers. Everything looked perfect. The transport chain was complete. I was so happy.
Then one of the drivers had to cancel because the roof of his house started leaking and his living room was flooding.
Just like that, my entire transport chain collapsed.
I had to start all over again. At that point, I had almost lost hope...
But then...
Last weekend, our local Pleb Walk crew went to a three-day Goa festival for a little "Pleb Dance." The first day was free, so we all had one-day tickets.
At the end of the first day, I suddenly had this voice in my head:
"Lady Block Jane... there are German party guests here. The person who can take your artwork to Stuttgart is HERE. Find them."
So I used every trick I could think of to stay for all three days—even though I had no ticket, no tent... basically nothing. ☀️☀️☀️ For three days, I danced through the festival asking practically everyone:
"Are you German? Are you driving towards Stuttgart?"
You won't believe it...
But it actually worked. 🤣🤣
On Monday, we're taking the artwork to Stuttgart. "We" means me and one of the party guests.
Sometimes I honestly wonder whether I make art...
...or whether my real job is producing absurd Bitcoin logistics adventures.
Either way, the artwork is finally on its way to Chicago.
