Ok #dogstr dog owners, I've got a question!
We've had a heat wave and it's the first Southern heat wave Princess Aurora has experienced. She's developed the strategy of, if I don't drink anything then I won't have to go outside to pee!
She's getting a bit dehydrated as a result. Yesterday I was able to get her to drink but she still refused to go pee outside. She ended up having an accident inside and today she seems more determined to not drink.
Otherwise she ate breakfast and seems to be in less pain so I do think she's on the mend. I just want to make sure she's not getting dehydrated. Right now I have metal bowl and plastic bowl of plan water. Also a cup of beef broth water. I just tried smearing some peanut butter in the cup with water.
Any strategy suggestions?? It should cool off starting tomorrow so hopefully this behavior will simmer down too 😭
