An interesting take that seems to be playing out somewhat. He said years ago that the US is gutting Europe…and ever since he first said it, it seems to be continuing as he said. Fascinating.

That’s it, I’ve done it. I’ve deleted Twitter from my phone. I will only access it from my iPad, thus limiting my exposure to the absolute carnage it is. Hopefully @alp will be proud of me lol 😂
Why did I do it?
Many reasons. In brief:
1) Its simply a ‘rage porn platform’, with actual porn as ads as well, which was doing my head in. I almost never open it up except that I’m bombarded with an array of things that enrage me. No doubt due to the algo, because I don’t get that way with Nostr.
2) I already cancelled my blue tick as soon as Elon showed his support for genocide, but I just didn’t think it was enough. I’m still adding to his userbase, ad revenue (as he made his ads easy to accidentally click them). Stuff Elon and his zio crew.
3) With the extra time, I hope to spend it using and building on nostr, helping Bitcoin adoption and doing something useful; rather than doom scrolling.
4) Nostr is so much more superior than Twitter. Yes, it hasn’t got millions userbase and engagement, but neither did Bitcoin. The potential of what can be done on Nostr is just crazy, compared to the closed garden of Twitter. Naa, not wasting my time on that platform any longer.
5) I can actually send and receive money (Bitcoin) on Nostr. So far I’ve received almost $150 of zaps from ppl who liked my content on Nostr. Compared to the $0 I’ve received from Twitter, especially considering the amount of time spent on it. I can send rewards to great posts on there and receive likewise. That actually makes the content there way more meaningful and useful rather than just the usual rage bait click nonsense on Twitter.
I still have it on my iPad, so when I need to share my videos, news etc then I’ll do so from there, but I’m not carrying it around in my pocket anymore. I welcome you all to join me on Nostr. You don’t have to go full cold turkey, you can have both Nostr and Twitter, but the more you use it the more you will appreciate how much better it is.
