Realism > Idealism Philosophy, theology, bitcoin. I think BTC & XMR serve a different purpose. Old zoomer. The world is much more nuanced than those in power would ever wish for you to believe. All opinions are my own. I am always open to new ideas and using reason as opposed to adhering to any worldview blindly.

The degeneracy on X is genuinely worse day after day. I absolutely must delete my account. I think my brain just isn’t suited for social media. I would like to write longer form writings on philosophy/theology on Nostr but not sure if I’d be committed to build a bigger following to even do that. I prefer actual social discussions such as Discord and Reddit. We’ll see. But fuck X, Instagram, Facebook, etc. that shit is cancer

Why is it that the people that claim to be for freedom so strongly are the same people that constantly tell others what they should and shouldn’t be doing with their lives? Lol

I love #Nostr but then I realized it’s still social media and social media is a cancerous toxic pile of fake dog shit where people don’t operate in reality…

After recent reading and more research, I tend to agree with what Hal Finney’s view of #Bitcoin was as well as Saifedean’s views. In my opinion, as much as I dislike them, I think complaining about KYC and AML is pointless. People need to stop being idealist and be way more realistic. If Bitcoin is going to be the world reserve currency one day and back global finance, KYC is inevitable and it’s a necessary component to achieve this status and high liquidity. People tend to get very wrapped up in the cypherpunk ethos and attempt to turn Bitcoin into something it clearly is not. “Cash” clearly does not mean day-to-day payments and was obviously referring to final settlement. Of course layers can be built on Bitcoin for different use cases, but this was not the intended design. The Lightning Network is great but think about scale and practicality. I cannot help but believe that Bitcoin was designed to solve different problems than what anarchists, libertarians, etc. want it to solve. And the biggest thing for me is that’s okay… The “Bitcoin as digital gold” narrative is very strong and it’s the most revolutionary invention/discovery in centuries. Final settlement + being able to maintain my money and contributed value to society over time is enough for me. For the people desiring hardcore privacy and wish Bitcoin was different in certain ways to fulfill their Ancap wet dream…… welp, just use #Monero. Bitcoin and Monero can co-exist because they simply solve different problems. Even #Ethereum has real-world use cases that aim to implement different solutions to different problems. Ethereum doesn’t try to be money, but Bitcoin maxis call anything a shitcoin that isn’t Bitcoin, which to me is an ignorant statement. I agree Bitcoin is perfect money in the general sense and I want global finance to be anchored to it, but that doesn’t mean every other coin is useless with zero utility.

#Monero bros… I have a question. What are your thoughts on Zcash?

You know your political views are realistic and very reasonable as a human being if both sides of the political spectrum despise you. Fuck the far left woke bullshit where you cannot figure out your own gender; but also fuck your far right nationalism where you need arbitrary lines on a map and a made up flag to define your own identity. Philosophically speaking, somewhere between classical liberalism (not the retarded modern version of liberal) and minarchism is the sweet spot.

I don’t understand how people expect mass #Bitcoin adoption to happen without KYC and companies being regulated and compliant with the law. The majority of normies will prioritize convenience. I am not a fan of KYC nor AML. I think they’re bullshit laws that treat everyone like a victim—I’m just also not blinded by an unrealistic libertarian daydream, despite wanting that to be the case. Be practical. It was obvious that this was going to happen if mass adoption and high liquidity were going to take place. Not sure what this means for the future of Bitcoin or what privacy implications this entails long term, but I do believe I am stating the obvious here.

How long until landlords start accepting rent in #Bitcoin?

I think I am going to begin DCA’ing a much smaller amount on #Strike, and then focus on mainly building up a non-KYC stack of Bitcoin tbh… Some things seem fishy to me now. I’m a big fan of Strike but I don’t want to take as big a part in KYC nanny-state with fiat but wrapped in #Bitcoin.
