Functional Patterns HBS3 @junglebiomechanics @virtualbiomechanics @junglerunners
Your posture is often the missing link in managing anxiety. Most people try to calm the mind without realizing how much the body is driving the signal. When posture is misaligned, the body stays in a stressed state, and that dysregulation feeds directly into how you think and feel. The way you hold yourself and the way you move shape how your body functions. That physical input becomes emotional feedback, influencing your mood, your stress tolerance, and how safe or threatened you feel throughout the day. Change the posture and you change the conversation between your body and your brain. Address your body language to be anxiety-free. image
Why “just move” does not go far enough When the body moves, what matters is not a single joint but how the entire system responds together. Fascia connects everything, which means no change is ever local. Small positional differences determine whether force flows cleanly or gets trapped, leading either to resilience or slow joint wear and stiffness. Movement by itself is not enough. The body adapts to whatever patterns it repeats, and those adaptations are not always positive. Repetition can organize the system or quietly reinforce compensations over time. That is why “just move” falls short. What matters is how you move. When you do Functional Patterns you are learning how to organize your structure so movement builds resilience instead of breakdown. #functionalpatterns #moveintentionally #fascia #structure #jointhealth

I was a competitive runner for 8 years and captain of my high school and college cross country and track teams. I’ve been wanting to launch something like this for the last 10 years but never got the chance until now. Hopefully we get a good turn out 🙏

People try to fix shoulder pain and posture by forcing a “stacked” position with cues like shoulders down and back. What that really creates is an illusion of alignment, not true structure. Locking the shoulders into a fixed position shuts down the natural movement of the thoracic spine and ribcage. Over time this is how dysfunction shows up, including issues like thoracic outlet syndrome. The body was never meant to be held in place, it was meant to move. FP Practitioners solve this by creating balance through intentional, integrated movement. The shoulders, spine, and ribcage have to work together as one system, using patterns that reflect how humans evolved to move. Posture is not something you hold. It is something you earn through movement.
Moving beyond straight line training matters. But adding rotation alone does not fix dysfunction. A lot of people jump into multi planar work or try to mimic Functional Patterns movements without correcting their structure first. On the surface it can look like progress, but mechanically it often reinforces deeper issues. If the body already has torsional imbalances, where ligaments and tendons are chronically overstretched on one side, adding rotation only makes the problem worse. Those compromised tissues get pulled even longer and the system becomes more unstable. Multi planar movement is only beneficial when the body is structurally prepared for it. Structure has to come before movement. @Grant Primal Fathers using the FP RG Bell 🦍🔵
Everyone wants to “regulate” their nervous system. But very few address the structure it has to operate through. Health and performance start with balanced muscles, hydrated fascia, and organized posture. That physical foundation determines how well your nerves can actually function and how efficiently you move. If fascia is restricted or dehydrated, neural signals cannot travel well. A nervous system cannot operate cleanly through a body that is physically stuck. No amount of breathwork or nervous system drills can override poor structure. That is why @functionalpatterns practitioners address structural imbalances first. When fascia, muscles, bones, and posture are working together, the nervous system naturally settles into balance. Fix the structure and the system follows. @Jen Bader
