In Canada, I had no idea how extreme the housing market became during the covid plandemic. Buyers were outbidding each other by outrageous amounts just to purchase a home. Now, many homeowners can no longer afford their mortgage payments when it's time to renew. As a result, they're being forced to sell, but many sellers still seem to believe their homes are worth peak-pandemic prices. Properties often sit on the market for 80 days or more, with sellers making small price reductions of $5,000, then later $10,000 or even $25,000, yet many still struggle to attract buyers because their house price is still massively inflated. I think a lot of people have been distracted by Netflix or relying on mainstream media, believing the economy is doing well, while they don't realize how bad the Canadian economy is. According to several online podcasters, many homeowners also took out HELOCs (Home Equity Lines of Credit), allowing them to borrow against the increasing value of their homes. Many assumed housing prices would continue rising indefinitely, so they borrowed more, expecting their home equity to keep growing. I had no idea this was happening. I didn't realize how many people were buying homes at inflated prices or even that HELOCs existed. Looking at the situation today, it seems the Canadian housing market has become a massive mess, with some homeowners facing serious financial hardship and, in some cases, bankruptcy.

Can someone fix nostr nests? I want to debate/educate others. I should just use LFL because it has voice chat but nostr nests is better because the UI is dedicated for that voice chat rooms not streaming.

If you learn the: fiat banking system the gold standard flat earth theory tartarian theory WEF theory those main theories but also others you will connect the dots and basically realize everything they have told us is fake and a lie. Bitcoiners, What will you do if your kids can't afford to buy a home because housing has become so expensive, and at the same time your heavily leveraged boomer parents lose their home, are too old to go back to work, and ask to move in with you. Now take it one step further. What if it's your partner's parents instead? Or even worse... both sets of parents need a place to live at the same time. Will you be their hero?

The last decade some grown adults were moving back in with their parents because of high housing costs, and now the over leveraged boomers are losing their homes because of mortgage renewals so the boomers are going to have to move in with their children. What a massive mess. Can you imagine that? Your grown kids are already living with you and now your bommer parents tell you they are losing their home and have nowhere to go so they want to move in with you.

Is anyone on nostr actually running a legit business? I feel the majority of users on nostr are working for a company or selling homemade things on the side. I get the feeling the majority have no business experience. Which isn't surprising since the majority of us live in a fiat system which working for ourselves isn't beneficial and gets your nowhere because the system is setup so you will fail right from the beginning.

What I hate about the btcmap org website, is that all these small informal vendors never have a website, social media, YouTube channel or pictures of their business. It's literally just a name of a business saying the accept Bitcoin. I'm going to guess that a coconut vendor doesn't believe he needs a website, social media or probably can't afford to get a website. I heard they are barley surviving and that 5 USD a month for web hosting is a lot of money in their countries? who knows.

Small businesses used to have websites but then Facebook & Instagram became popular so they started using those more often and it worked great, but now that Facebook & Instagram isn't cool anymore and the users are leaving, businesses started leaving too. The problem is they even abandoned their websites, although I believe it's because they are trying to save money due to a bad economy and they also aren't familiar on how to setup a website. I'd offer my services but most small businesses are struggling so it's a waste of time. Eventually they'll make their way to nostr but I think a lot do them are sick of social media and their censorship. It's annoying when businesses don't have websites or social media and it's tough running a business. You literally have to market yourself on YouTube or social media in order to get customers.
