Previously I mainly used Plume for checking out the 'other stuff' that people do on #nostr - it's what it's built for and it works reasonably well. More recently though, I'm having to use it just to see who's posting via #Amethyst because this is what I see for most people's profiles, most of the time now; image

Gotta be honest, I preferred when the music that appeared on #nostr was independent artists sharing their music in the hopes people will pick up on it, love it and they might get paid. Now it's drowned in other people's music, uploaded by nostr users with no connection to the original artists and the indi stuff is getting drowned out. Another great opportunity lost, imo.

Encountering an unusual problem today.... Over the last 6 months, due to injuries and illness, I've been on a fairly regular dose of opioid based pain relief. Things are getting much better. I've needed 1 pill in 4 days to manage the pain. However, I'm staring at my computer and struggling to work today. I don't feel ill, it's just total brain fog, which turns out to be a side effect of stopping opiods that I've not experienced before. I feel like I need a gazillion spoons of coffee in a mug with a single drop of water.

This is brilliant, another step towards building something long term on the #nostr protocol. I just reposted Hodlbod's post about selling community relays, another sensible idea. We're getting there. View quoted note โ†’

If inflation carries on at the rate that it is, it's soon going to affect how much I'm able to stack each month. There's going to be millions of people, choosing between paying bills and putting something aside for the future. I'm currently quite fortunate, I suppose, but my circumstances could change, rapidly. Definitely tough times.

Another 2% rise in the cost of my regular breakfast, just a few short months after the last rise. More to come. Inflation is theft.

His father is being a lot more restrained than I'd be. I'd be raising the colours and leading a head long charge against everyone who had wronged me, personally. image

The story of Henry Nowak seems to have gone global. It happened in #Southampton, the next city along from me. Normally there's a great deal of stick between inhabitants of the two southern cities. Right now I'm wondering how my neighbours are doing, knowing this happened on their patch. How it could have been any of them. I feel bad for them. In recent weeks a random attack saw police kicking a man in the head several times, because he was armed and was trying to kill people. They were criticised, but most sensible people figured, well, you've got to disarm or disable him somehow. A pair of brothers who attacked police at Manchester airport were told they no longer faced trial over the events. People rightly expected the police to exercise a little force in that situation too and are shocked the brothers have effectively gotten away with attacking the cops. Yet in the case of Henry Nowak, they got it oh so very very wrong. He wasn't attacking anyone. He wasn't aggressive. He was prone, slowly bleeding to death. Yet, he was dragged along gravel and shackled in handcuffs, left to drown in his own blood. Unless they deal with these officers effectively and quickly, they will erode more public support, still reeling in recent years following 2020. One has already resigned. It's not enough. They must be held to a higher standard than the rest of us, because they are entrusted with power. The next day or two will be interesting.
