For me, the bigger issue here is the absolute blind trust being given to the AI Overlords already. I see BIG issues happening as models are retrained yet people still have that unwavering trust. Think back to SEO (Search Engine Optimization for non nerds) and how search algos were gamed over time. If you don't think external parties will find ways to influence models, well... I'm torn. I've long used credit cards for the points/rewards -- I've not paid for a flight very often over the last decade. I know deep down that some poor windowlicker is likely financing that for me with their poor credit hygiene. If this makes it through the banking lobby, I've got to think it's the end of rewards cards if not other perks like no fee cards and what not. Also, if they can't recoup interest from subprime customers, they'll just not issue them credit at all. Elon Musk's villain arc is ramping up. Within the last two weeks: 1) Advocated against the American labor force. Got absolutely ratioed on his own platform and got his panties into a bunch. 2) Removed Blue Checks, wiped subscriptions, demonetized and deplatformed many of those with "negative" dissenting opinions. 3) Announced an algorithm change to further punish "negativity" which is completely subjective based on his closed source, proprietary AI models. So much for the "free speech town square" of the Internet. 4) Adjusted his account so only verified or mentioned accounts can reply to him. Anyone want odds that he isn't or won't be going after verified accounts behind the scenes? That is full mask off dictator level behavior.
