I reconfirmed this morning that I enjoy shooting firearms exponentially more than I enjoy cleaning firearms. When I was a kid, my Dad would let me take any weapon out for a session or a hike. But if it got discharged even once, it had to be cleaned and lubed before it got put back in the closet. As an adult, finding time to shoot is hard enough. So often a weapon gets put away with the best intentions of cleaning it the following day. That rarely happens. So you end up with three or four to clean on a Saturday such as this lol. But I must say, these Bore Snakes are the slickest thing ever. It’s nice having a few for each calibre. #gunstr

Sample Offsite/Evac Kit - 3 labelled, cloned Cold Cards - 4 mini SD cards - combination USB A/USB C, SD/mini SD reader - CoinKite Cold Power 9V power adapter in a baggie - CoinKite Cold Power “power only” cable - 3 “power only” Cold Card inserts - 2 standard USB A to USB C cables - Two 9V batteries in baggies. (Remove for long term storage or burial). - padlock (stowed) - 2 “marked” external zip tie tamper seals - 6 spare unmarked zip tie tamper seals (stowed) Make the whole kit redundant and secured by PINs. To protect from situations where it becomes inaccessible or is destroyed, make sure it has a fire safe twin. If the twin becomes inaccessible or is destroyed, fall back to locked and tamper sealed steel backups and an uninitialized signer at yet another (third) location away from your residence. When calculating your BTC cost basis, make sure to add the cost of signers, plates, nodes, laptops, burner phones, decoys, storage solutions, firearms and passage out of Dodge lol. It’s the cost of being the manager, teller, head of IT and head of security at your own bank. And we wonder why adoption and self custody are slow to spread….

Finally bit the bullet on some lockable, submersible, burial-safe offsite storage. Should get a few more, including a bigger one for a rifle and some cartridges, but hey they aren’t cheap. image

I think one of the best things my parents ever did for us kids, aside from showing us daily how much they loved each other, providing a stable home environment, and working us like farm animals to teach us work ethic, was to give us almost total freedom in our spare time. No requirement to account for whereabouts. No curfews. But a severe yank on the chain and making us deal with the consequences solo if we fucked up. I’m glad that I at least got to experience life like that for a handful of years. Sometimes when I think of how many times I’d be alone miles from home with nothing but a canteen, a backpack and a .22 I think they may have been actively trying to get rid of us lol.

It appears there are three choices: - rage against the tide, be miserable, and look like a nutter to the majority around you, including your extended family, who are totally blind to “the long game” of totalitarianism - focus on those things you can control (building a family, educating your kids, building local networks for the provision of essentials, securing means of obtaining water, growing your own food, maintaining means of trade, securing your family’s physical space, staying fit, and finding other awakened individuals to cooperate with), and watch “what has already been written” play out while you try to be a source of inspiration, assistance and hope to those around you. - go full insurgent and make sure to take a few of “them” with you before you leave your loved ones behind to navigate a shitstorm by themselves, that you could have made a little more bearable and happy The only thing that has ever turned such tides and pushed back such assaults on human dignity and freedom, throughout history, is blood and human sacrifice. Buckle up. What other constructive responses to the current timeline exist? #asknostr View quoted note →
