I went and prepped the site of my guerrilla gardening experiment tonight and saw one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my soil nerd life. As I levelled off a 15x12” area where I plan to plant and basically abandon 50-60 seed potatoes and onions in these 5-6 year old composted chip piles, I realized that at a depth of about 6”, the entire 50x20yd collection of scores of chip piles were host to one gigantic mycelium network. Everywhere I dug, the same mesh of white mycelial fibres, from one end of the stockpile to the other. If you look at the closeups, it was the same mesh everywhere. All connected. All one giant organism. Man nature is amazing. #permaculture

Some days you just have to say f*ck it. Today was one of those days. “Good morning sweetheart xo. I have lots of chores I could fill this day with. In fact, I could take this whole week off work and still not get everything done. So instead, I want to do something fun and laugh with my best friend. YOU. I need a reminder of why I keep putting one foot in front of the other through these busy weeks. See you when you come down for coffee xo.” image

Potatoes are in. These boxes usually only yield 100lb or so, but this year I’m guerrilla planting another hundred seed potatoes and 30-40 onions in a place I found with piles of fully composted wood chips not far away. I want to see with zero intervention on my part if I get any yield off of that spot. It would make for a good bumper crop. #gardenstr

Does anyone here have any personal experience with composting toilets? They appear to solve a lot of problems when setting up off grid living quarters. #prepstr #asknostr

I have to be honest. I nearly cheapened myself with a recently widowed senior who I visited today to do a job estimate.

All the seedlings transplanted to the next stage. 24 Big Beef Hybrid tomatoes, 12 Wicked Ghost Peppers, and 10 Red Bell Peppers. Just have to harden them off, build a little resistance to wind and full direct sunlight with sessions outside when I’m home, and wait for risk of evening frost to pass. Lord I can’t wait to have a greenhouse. The biggest risk these plants face at this stage is being walked up and down stairs between sunning locations. #gardenstr image

Cutting seed potatoes so the cut edges can harden up before I put them in the wet ground. I can’t believe how versatile a plant potatoes are. Literally millions of people including my great great great great grandparents only lived to see another day because of them. #gardenstr

The kids are at a gas station near the hospital. Looks like they’re getting ready to make the final five hour push home. And the BF with no pain meds left. Gong show. View quoted note →

It’s largely because people have allowed centralized corporate social media algorithms and Chinese bot farms turn them into the most radicalized versions of themselves online. View quoted note →

So many channel failures on zaps using CoinOS. Killing my vibe. Still looking for a good solution on a half baked client.
