Tomatoes and peppers in. But preparing for extreme weather tomorrow

Created in God’s image, but slowly turning this oasis in the cosmos into a prison. IDK…

This is why I don’t trade or leverage.
It’s the digital equivalent of the awesome neighbourhood restaurant that pops up and achieves great success with good portions and good quality only to screw the locals that made them a success. No re-sub planned.

The beds and stackable potato boxes that I built three years ago, just before filling them for the first time. Since they are open to the earth, I regularly find worms in them when I turn the soil over. There’s one more 4’x4’x3’ not shown. Thousands of wood screws and every hole pre-drilled and countersunk so I wouldn’t split the lumber. A month of weekends for a little food sovereignty. #gardenstr

Tonight I went and planted 50 seed potatoes and about 30 onions in these composted chip piles three miles from home. I’m not expecting much of a yield but it sure would be cool if it worked out and we got enough rain. I’m just completely leaving them alone all summer. #geurrillagardening

The tomatoes are putting on some mass. Time to transplant this weekend. #gardenstr

Came home from planting potatoes and this was paused on the TV. Even the dog is disturbed lol

I went and prepped the site of my guerrilla gardening experiment tonight and saw one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my soil nerd life. As I levelled off a 15x12” area where I plan to plant and basically abandon 50-60 seed potatoes and onions in these 5-6 year old composted chip piles, I realized that at a depth of about 6”, the entire 50x20yd collection of scores of chip piles were host to one gigantic mycelium network. Everywhere I dug, the same mesh of white mycelial fibres, from one end of the stockpile to the other. If you look at the closeups, it was the same mesh everywhere. All connected. All one giant organism. Man nature is amazing. #permaculture
