Important and timely topic, with so many of our parents entering this season of life. After my Mom’s stroke and seeing her change from her former vibrant self into a chronic pain sufferer with declining mobility, unpredictable behaviour, lack of speech, and declining judgement over the course of 17 years, we are all too familiar with the very real condition of caregiver burnout. Navigating topics of healthcare, mobility, power of attorney, and dealing people preying on her diminished cognitive ability for their own gain while she fiercely held on to her own place.
