Trying to have discussions at work about topics like the legitimacy and repercussions of a Texas secession makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
This country may actually be completely screwed.

Second nest this season from a killdeer. These birds crack me up.

He can only get away from death by continually stepping within an inch of it. A soldier surrounded by enemies, if he is to cut his way out, needs to combine a strong desire for living with a strange carelessness about dying. He must not merely cling to life, for then he will be a cow-ard, and will not escape. He must not merely wait for death, for then he will be a suicide, and will not escape. He must seek his life in a spirit of furious indifference to it; he must desire life like water and yet drink death like wine. No philosopher, I fancy, has ever expressed this romantic riddle with adequate lucidity, and I certainly have not done so. But Christianity has done more: it has marked the limits of it in the awful graves of the suicide and the hero, showing the distance between him who dies for the sake of living and him who dies for the sake of dying. And it has held up ever since above the European lances the banner of the mystery of chivalry: the Christian courage, which is a disdain of death; not the Chinese courage, which is a disdain of life.

Stephanie Kelton should be hanging out with all the flat earthers.
Saw one in the wild. What a dumb looking truck.

MMT is to Economics as Flat Earth is to Astrophysics.
Just gonna put this here. Stole it from twitter, but that’s not the point.
I wonder what the rest of the world looks like?
I think we’re are in a time where we are all going to pay for the sins of our parents.

Proper homeschooling.

Patiently waiting for the Carrington Event… 🥱
Going from a military job to civilian is interesting. The thing that troubles me the most, at least in my thoughts presently, is how to negotiate a salary? Local paper mill has maintenance manager position for $87k+, with one of the preferred reqs of 2+years managing people and maintenance. What should someone with over 15 years of it ask?
I thought the Apple “crush” ad was decent. People were actually offended by this? Probably need to wake up if that’s your level of offense.

I cannot be the only one that feels entirely too constrained by only 24 hours in a day…
