Curious designer building projects on bitcoin. I share what I learn and how I'm doing it. https://buoybitcoin.com - Compare bitcoin-only services https://dittotranscriptgenerator.com - Privacy-first transcript extractor https://www.breen.studio - Infographic posters
Working on animating the Ditto logo for my design portfolio: image It's a free open-source transcript extractor.
I can't seem to get notified when the people I follow on Nostr post something, so I built a simple script that monitors relays and sends me a Telegram message. @Derek Ross do you think this will be a Nostr option in the future?

The debt-based system extracts everything from you: • Your Attention: Media harvests your fear so you vote for your own chains • Your Time: Inflation steals your labor faster than you can earn it • Your Future: Burning real resources to pretend we have growth • Your Voice: You elect politicians, but you don't control the money printer • Your Conscience: Your cheap goods require someone else's slavery • Your Values: Forced to gamble on assets just to survive You are the battery powering this system. And you have the choice to unplug.

Emotions are signals, not problems. And problems are puzzles, not walls.

I think the idea of recurring revenue is slowly dying. With more ai tools available people will say “why not just build that myself?” Plus debasement will intensify screening for monthly expenses.

Today I realized that the most successful founders and creators use the same playbook, regardless of their medium: In SEO: You don't build a page and hope for traffic. You find the keywords with proven volume and build for them. In Writing: You don't write a post and hope for likes. You find "validated ideas"—structures that have already gone viral—and expand on them.

I’m building a private transcript generator, but I refuse to give it a boring, literal name like so many tools have. I chose a different path: Naming based on a feeling. Here’s how I created the identity for "Ditto" in 4 hours: I'm a fan of a hundred monkeys' philosophy: names should tell a story, not just a function. • "Home repair videos" → All Thumbs • "Recommendation network" → Likewise My goal? Find a name that feels as frictionless as the tool itself.
I started with a word cloud to capture the "Bitcoin Ethos": 🔓 Open & Transparent ⚡ Frictionless 🕵️ Privacy-first 📖 Reveal I almost went with "Facsimile," but it felt too archaic and hard to spell. Back to the thesaurus for synonyms.
Then I found it: Ditto. It’s related to duplicating or copying. It’s short, informal, and positive. Not to forget: No big brands using it.
For the logo, initially I wanted to merge the "Play" button with the letter "D." I love typography, so I also played with the standard "Copy" icon. The result is a logo that feels familiar but custom.
 image Colors weren’t random.
I fed Albers’ "Interaction of Color" and Itten’s "Elements of Color" into NotebookLM for suggestions. 🟡 Yellow: Knowledge & Light (revealing the text). 🔵 Deep Blue: Trust & Privacy. It’s the visual equivalent of "shining a light" on hidden data. Total time: 4 hours from blank page to "brand" identity. By putting in the extra work, I'm building a design portfolio — not just another generic utility. If you like design or if you're interested in Bitcoin related projects, follow along for the next update.

Started today working on a free, open-source and private video transcript extractor for those who like to learn and take notes. So many services are behind sign-up walls or send your data to the cloud. Plus mine works on gated courses.

Tried to add @Jeff Booth as a WikiData entry because his work is so notable, but it got deleted after18 hours for not being "notable" enough 😄

Creative people often feel a "need" to express themselves because they are literally carrying more data than the average person and need to "offload" it into a structure (like a song or a business model) to make sense of it.

Yesterday i felt the need to write a bitcoin blog article but now it's finished i realize it's fairly worthless to get eyeballs on it. Daniel Vassallo taught me to build credibility first and then share your views, not the other way around because no one is going to listen to you without credibility. Always takes a bit to adjust your behaviour.

Just bought Daniel Vassallo's Twitter course to gain an audience. Here's what I took away from it: ✅ build credibility: do something interesting and describe what it was like 🔔 get notified when big accounts post and reply fast to add value 👤 your bio should tell me why I should follow you and what you'll post about 🎁 give, give, give, don't ask. Giving = value, Asking = anything that benefits you directly

My biggest fear: working on becoming a solopreneur and not succeeding even after 10 years. Sometimes I see terrible comedians on stage and when asked "how long have you been performing" they say "10 years". Imagine honing a craft for 10 years and not becoming skilled at it...

Today I'm finding out there is no way to process payments in fiat without registering at the chamber of commerce in The Netherlands. The net is tightening. Stripe, Square, Shopify, Lemon Squeezy, Buy me a Coffee all require tax registration. BTCPay could be an option but it will drastically decrease my chances of getting a sale.

Reading Jordan Peterson's book 12 Rules for Life for the first time and getting some nice insights: You have to face challenges and go out on adventures so you can build up character. You will not only be interesting to people, but that character is also needed to provide a stable framework that can handle the chaos of life.

Reading The Minimalist Entrepreneur, it talks about setting up a social media account for your business as well as you personally. I think that business account only makes sense when you reach a certain size with it.
