Gearing up for some canning next weekend, going to do some Klondike pickles and some picallily. Both of which are old recipes handed down and are delicious!
One thing that gets me on lost platforms is that off grid has become mostly glamour and not based in reality. Most of us scrape by and use what we have of can find for free or second hand to make this lifestyle work. Most of us did not sell our million dollar house in California and immediately by up an established homestead to be trendy. I think most of us are doing this to try break free form the system that controls our every move. Most of us claw and scratch our way to make this work. Some make it and some do not. You need the right mindset to live like our ancestors did off the land. Heck even my grandparents had victory gardens and canned most of their food. We need to get back to that!
Is there anyone out there interested at all in living off grid and homesteading? Please join me so we can help each other with ideas and knowledge. It isn’t easy, but we can make it easier by helping each other to solve our little ‘issues’ that we run into living this lifestyle ✌️
