Police later arrested the suspect. According to reports, up to eight people were injured in the incident, while authorities have not yet publicly released a motive.

🇧🇴 #Bolivia: Clashes broke out between miner unions, protest groups, and law enforcement in La Paz as demonstrators called for the resignation of President Rodrigo Paz amid the country’s worsening economic and fuel crisis.
Protesters confronted police while attempting to enter Plaza Murillo, Bolivia’s central government square, throwing what appeared to be dynamite sticks during the clashes. Meanwhile, roadblocks and demonstrations have continued across several parts of the country, including in El Alto, with regional reports describing a deteriorating security situation as authorities attempt to restore circulation.

According to police, at least 11 people have been arrested since the demonstrations began.
🇪🇹 #Ethiopia: Intense fighting between Fano militias and Ethiopian government forces was reported in and around Mahdere Maryam town in the Farta district of South Gondar on May 14th.
According to regional sources, clashes lasted for more than seven hours after government forces backed by mechanized units and drones temporarily entered the town before being pushed back by AFNM fighters.

🇺🇦 #Ukraine - 🇷🇺 #Russia: Russian forces have struck clearly marked UN vehicles in two separate instances that were delivering humanitarian aid to civilians in Ostriv, Kherson region yesterday.
The first two clips are taken from Russian Telegram channels showing the moments of the strikes, while the third was published on UNIFEED’s website and shows both the impact and the aftermath. Furthermore, Russian forces also struck a vehicle belonging to the NGO “Iskra Dobra” in the Dnipro district of the city while it was delivering hot meals to residents.

🇬🇧 #UK: London is preparing for one of its largest public order operations in recent years as two major demonstrations, the pro-Palestine “Nakba Day” march and the “Unite the Kingdom” rally organised by Tommy Robinson, take place simultaneously in central London, alongside the FA Cup Final.
For the first time in a protest policing operation in the UK, live AI facial recognition will be used alongside aerial surveillance employing helicopters and drones, as well as armoured vehicles and large-scale specialist policing units deployed across the capital. Around 4.000 officers will be involved in the operation, with reinforcements from forces across England and Wales, as authorities reportedly prepare for "significant public order risks" across multiple protest routes.

🇺🇦 #Ukraine - 🇷🇺 #Russia: The Ryazan oil refinery in western Russia was struck overnight during a Ukrainian drone attack, causing massive fires at the facility and what local residents described as “oil rain” falling over parts of the city.
The refinery, one of the largest in Russia and located more than 460 km from the Ukrainian border, has been targeted multiple times by Ukrainian strikes since the beginning of the war.
Russian air defence activity during the attack also reportedly resulted in damage to residential buildings, with casualties reported.

A similar incident was also reported in February of this year, when the Royal Thai Army stated that Thai troops came under fire from a 40mm grenade allegedly launched from the Cambodian side near the border.

🇺🇸 #US: The US military is moving to expand its use of artificial intelligence after the Pentagon signed new agreements with several major tech companies, aiming to turn it into an “AI-first” fighting force.
The move follows a dispute with AI firm Anthropic, which voiced its concerns publicly that its tools could be used for mass domestic surveillance or fully autonomous weapons and refused to accept contract terms that the US government has described as “any lawful operational use".
The Pentagon has instead turned to companies including Google, OpenAI, Amazon, Microsoft, SpaceX, Nvidia and others, pushing ahead with broader use of AI across military operations.

The dossier outlines alleged actions between October 2023 and May 2024, including killings of civilians and aid workers, attacks on hospitals and schools, forced displacement, and damage to religious sites.

🇺🇦 #Ukraine - 🇷🇺 #Russia: Russia launched a massive drone strike over the city of Kherson earlier today, using fiber-optic drones as well as fixed-wing drones such as the Molniya. The city was struck twice within a short period of time.
Gas stations, along with other civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, were hit during the strikes. Reports so far also indicate that two civilian buses were targeted in two separate strikes.

🇱🇧 #Lebanon - 🇮🇱 #Israel: Hezbollah has shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 drone (also nicknamed Zik) over the skies of the Lebanese city of Nabatiyeh two days ago using what was reported as an Iranian "Misagh 358" Surface-to-Air Missile.
The estimated cost of the drone is around $2 million. The same type of missile was also reportedly used extensively during the recent war in Iran, where multiple Hermes-type drones were shot down.

🇺🇦 #Ukraine - 🇷🇺 #Russia: Russian forces have launched several drone strikes on the village of Inzhenernoe, damaging a five-story residential building and sparking a fire in another multi-story structure. Two civilians were injured, one critically hospitalized while the other received on-site medical care.
Meanwhile, in the Kamyanske District, a drone struck transport infrastructure, hitting a passenger bus which was reportedly carrying around 40 children.
In Kherson, an ambulance driver was killed and at least seven people were reported injured after another strike earlier this morning.
