Gm nostr! Sadly no recipe Monday cause we just got home from spring break. It’s never a bad decision to spend time doing other stuff. 🔥🔥🔥
Got the @The Bullish ₿itcoiner bullish market booth set up for tonight. Not gonna lie, I’m pretty pumped.
Recipe Monday:
Peanut butter Muffins:
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup crunch-style peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup milk
2 well beaten eggs
1/4 cup currant jelly, melted
Sift together dry ingredients then cut in peanut butter and butter mixture until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and eggs all at once, stirring just until moistened. Fill 2 inch, greased muffin pan 2/3 full. Bake at 400F for 15 to 17 minutes. immediately brush tops with melted jelly; dip in peanuts. Serve hot. Makes 22 muffins.

As the growing season gets underway remember, companion planting not only benefits you. It benefits your garden!
The three sisters of companion planting are: corn,
beans,
and squash.
Corn gives a structure for the beans to climb.
Beans fix the nitrogen in the soil, feeding everything.
Squash provides foliage coverage keeping out weeds and retaining moisture!
This is why heirloom seeds matter as they were bred for these relationships.
Happy planting nostr 🌱
Recipe Monday:
Garden burgers:
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup catsup
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 6-ounce can broiled sliced mushrooms, drained
Melted butter
6 thin slices of onion, centers punched out
6 thin slices of tomato
6 slices process American cheese
Combine meat, eggs, onion, catsup, and seasonings. Mix thoroughly. Form in 12 thin patties. Place mushrooms on half the patties, leaving border of meat. Top with remaining patties, scaling edges well. To charcoal-broil: Broil patties slowly over hot coals until done the way you like, turning once. Brush with melted butter, top with onion, tomato, and cheese.
To hickory-barbecue: Place burgers on grill and top each with onion and tomato slice, brush well with butter. Following your charcoal oven directions, smoke-cook about 45 minutes. Add cheese last 8 minutes. Serve burgers in toasted buns. Serves 6.

Recipe Monday:
Orange Bowknots:
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup water
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar

2 beaten eggs
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
1/4 cup orange juice
Orange Icing:

Soften yeast in warm water. Combine hot milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in about 2 cups of the flour. and beat well. Add eggs and mix well. Stir in softened yeast. Add orange peel, juice, and remaining flour (enough to make a soft dough). Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
Turn out on a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease the surface. Cover dough and let rise in a warm place until double (about 2 hours). Punch down and then cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Roll dough in 18x10 inch rectangle 1/2 inch thick. Cut strips 10 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Roll each strip back and forth lightly under your fingers; loosely tie in knot. Arrange on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise in a warm place until dough doubles (about 45 minutes). Bake in hot oven (400F) for 12 minutes.
Ice with Orange Icing.
