I think the future is less digital, not more. Social media, internet connected devices, and soon AI brain rot, have caused immense damage to mental health, real life communities, and families. It’s not to say the tech is bad, I use it every single day. But I’m very conservative in how I use these things, mostly because I’m a highly skeptical person by nature. But most people can’t handle using it responsibly. I can’t use Facebook, instagram, or twitter myself. Every time I do, I get caught up in doom scrolling or some other sin that measurably impacts my well being. More and more normies are waking up to this and reducing their exposure. I don’t see people integrating tech even further with AI glasses or the like.
Big auto companies struggling to sell their EVs is the perfect example of why government subsidies aren’t just ineffective, but harmful. Thousands of people are losing their jobs because there is nowhere near enough organic demand for these vehicles. The market completely shifted to building these awful multi ton boxes of software when Americans just want cars that work and are affordable!
Robots should be built to solve specific problems, not to imitate humans.
There is nothing more cringe than an LLM model that has clearly been trained to flatter you and try to make you feel brilliant.
Public school is straight up hostile to parents. We made the mistake of enrolling our son in kindergarten and they’re constantly harassing us about one thing or another. Today was our first official day of homeschooling and he’s already doing way better.
Power has been out for about 14 hours 🙃 Guess I’ll fire up the generator.
Was pouring rain when we got to the field for my sons soccer game (last of the year). Then, it cleared up and was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. Now, back to raining. Thanks, God 😅
I installed Omarchy today. There’s definitely a learning curve, but it’s pretty fantastic.
