The new company I work at uses AI in engineering to a degree I find very impressive. They are gathering tons of relatively small, but meaningful productivity improvements (definitely not “10x” more productive). But guess what? There’s still a tremendous amount of engineering being done with DEEP technical expertise. Don’t believe the hype. AI won’t replace skill. It only amplifies the need for it.
One of my new coworkers told me today that’s he a raging leftist socialist (in those exact words). So, that’s fun 😅
My main modes of communication are memes and references from comedy movies/shows.
One of the reasons public schools are so bad is this belief that mastery of a topic at a certain level is required before moving forward. My son forgets a few letters occasionally. They wanted him to be 100% before moving to reading. In 3 weeks of home school, he’s reading full entry level books.
Seems like Trump is lashing out to a ton of people. He must really be feeling the heat. Good.
If your argument requires gatekeeping and credentials, you don’t have an argument
Does anyone on nostr have a good guide for doing LLM image generation locally? #asknostr
A new group that is catching my ire - man children who buy kids toys and resell them at elevated prices. I recently saw a man at Walmart ask an associate to get the box of hot wheels they just recently received so he could pick through them. The whole time, he’s standing there making comments about how much money he’s going to make. At a local grocery store, grown men are lining up at Pokémon vending machines to scoop up cards immediately. Losers.
We’re absolutely getting a socialist president in 2028. JD Vance won’t win because he’ll have a similar problem as Kamala. Can’t run on a platform that mirrors Trump because he’s been a complete flop but also can’t criticize him without criticizing himself.
The best use case of AI (the AI we actually have, not what sci-fi said we would have) is surveillance. We’re gonna have to learn how to throw tails like spies. “If you say, like, you now get a free Optimus and it’s just gonna follow you around and stop you from doing crime, but other than that you get to do anything. It’s just gonna stop you from committing crime, that’s really it,” Musk said on stage at the Tesla shareholder meeting on November 6.
