Orchard v0.3.0 is out! Thank you @Alex Gleason and @DanConwayDev for the input and PR, Orchard is now fully NIP-82 compliant, and also supports adding screenshots to app listings.
DEVELOPERS: If you have a Linux app you'd like to distribute without having to jump through app store hoops, I have plenty of documentation. Only Flatpaks are currently officially supported, but no reason why .deb, ..rpm, AppImages or other formats couldn't be added in the future. If you don't want to deal with flatpak-builder, there are instructions on how to public an oci image of your app which works identically.

a wild Armada install appears...looks like i got npkg apps working @Alex Gleason. there will be a couple things not yet implemented due to some differences between how npkg and orchard work (repo verification, digest verification, etc) but i'm sure i can tackle that soon.

Good morning, let's fuck this shit up!
Just pushed Orchard v0.1.4 which now automatically fetches any missing dependencies so you can now install @Amethyst without issue. Thank you @Vitor Pamplona for being so quick to support Orchard (and surfacing an issue I had completely missed.
Additionally, Orchard will now read any flatpak sources directly from your system so you can use any third party sources like Flatpark, etc. Plus, a few UI and UX fixes to make the experience a little more pleasant.

added some subwidgets for tons of system insight... @npub1ncff...j87x

imagine when people start using nostr lol
Tonight I'm releasing the first version of Orchard, a permissionless Flatpak store for Linux. There is no middle man. I don't host anyone's binaries, nothing needs approval, and there are no rankings or algorithms.
For developers: ship from your own registry and sign a few Nostr events describing the app. A proof file in your repo makes the link verifiable. Check PUBLISHING.md for a walkthrough and sample CI workflow to make things dead simple (tag and push, that's it).
For users: it's a real flatpak store and has built-in Flathub support so there's already thousands of apps available. All apps published to Nostr have publisher, repository, and digest verification so you know you can trust the app is what it says it is. Sign in via nostrconnect (bunker next version), review your favorite apps, and see what folks in your web of trust have said.
