Just sitting in pub where the WiFi is weak, and I have LAN cable with me and USB-C Ethernet adapter cos my machine doesn't have it by itself. And because the router is freely available - mounted in the ceiling, can connect to it. So I'm making a HotSpot from the laptop for another devices. Like a phone with Amber on it. From laptop I'm connected by Remmina RDP to my machine elsewhere where is most of my stuff - bcs sometimes not all is in the laptop with me. The connection is proxied by a VPS in totally different country (bcs have no public facing IP, the home setup is behind double CGNAT). All behind VPN with double hop; each of the machines behind different VPN server. VPS is all WireGuard going thru all of this and connecting all the machines. The file attached to the note is from selfhosted Immich that does live in different building. The resizing and metadata deletion done on some RPi sitting in city dozens km away, bcs why not. So just made a post on nostr with the remote signer, signing event on the remote machine through RDP to be send to some relay prolly on different continent. It's just crazy how well this is working, the latency is not that bad after all. Crazy <3

Best memories I have are from absolutely random events happening with no planning at all. Same for observations of society. Like this one. Just went on a run with the dog the other day - not long time ago. And found out on my usual path through the woods surrounding the city there was a small party. One stage, few bonfires and a tent. One bar. So dog returned and me ended dancing all the night till late in the morning. Albeit the music was a bit slow, ambient in parts, to my taste. Lots of dedicated camera and video recorders in hands of younger gen. As they like to have it separate from the 'have it all in' phone. Attendees from Argentina, Spain, France and Germany on top of locals. Some ~300 souls, no more. Responsible drug usage from what I saw: cocaine, pervitin, MDMA and marijuana vs only problems with alcohol (well as usual). Asked local harm reduction (mostly IT guys there, one doctor) and they had no work entire event - only the drunks were behaving more out of vibe, fortunately. They don't use crypto to pay for it, btw. Almost no phone usage during the time. Nice to see it's part of the culture with no need to enforce such. Mainly the music theme was #psy #techno #trance #electronic and little bit of #dnb. Interesting to see few metalheads there; they like the vibe & society more compared to metal festivals - all of them says this to me. Can confirm, as I'm one myself. No lineup, no posters; you had to know who was who (the music style and the face of the DJs) if you wish to have a sense who is playing what at the moment. Police arrived only, almost in the morning, asking for quieter performance (despite this being faraway from the city, perhaps some locals on weekend in a nearby allotment colony snitched). No fine. So we waited a bit and then asked performer to crank it up a bit as they left; not returning anymore. That is good - nice to see they didn't perform any search mission for easy points. Also this acts as remainder I'm getting older, my knee hurts a lot.
