GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 16:13-20 Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 23:1-12 Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, โ€œThe scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses. Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens hard to carry and lay them on peopleโ€™s shoulders, but they will not lift a finger to move them. All their works are performed to be seen. They widen their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. They love places of honor at banquets, seats of honor in synagogues, greetings in marketplaces, and the salutation โ€˜Rabbi.โ€™ As for you, do not be called โ€˜Rabbi.โ€™ You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers. Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called โ€˜Masterโ€™; you have but one master, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.โ€โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 22:34-40 When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a scholar of the law, tested him by asking, โ€œTeacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?โ€ He said to him, โ€œYou shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.โ€โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 22:1-14 Jesus again in reply spoke to the chief priests and the elders of the people in parables saying, โ€œThe Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son. He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they refused to come. A second time he sent other servants, saying, โ€˜Tell those invited: โ€œBehold, I have prepared my banquet, my calves and fattened cattle are killed, and everything is ready; come to the feast.โ€โ€™ Some ignored the invitation and went away, one to his farm, another to his business. The rest laid hold of his servants, mistreated them, and killed them. The king was enraged and sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. Then the king said to his servants, โ€˜The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come. Go out, therefore, into the main roads and invite to the feast whomever you find.โ€™ The servants went out into the streets and gathered all they found, bad and good alike, and the hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to meet the guests he saw a man there not dressed in a wedding garment. He said to him, โ€˜My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?โ€™ But he was reduced to silence. Then the king said to his attendants, โ€˜Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.โ€™ Many are invited, but few are chosen.โ€โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 20:1-16 Jesus told his disciples this parable: "The Kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. Going out about nine o'clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.' So they went off. And he went out again around noon, and around three o'clock, and did likewise. Going out about five o'clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, 'Why do you stand here idle all day?' They answered, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard.' When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Summon the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first.' When those who had started about five o'clock came, each received the usual daily wage. So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more, but each of them also got the usual wage. And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner, saying, 'These last ones worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who bore the day's burden and the heat.' He said to one of them in reply, 'My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you? Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?' Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last."โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 19:23-30 Jesus said to his disciples: โ€œAmen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God.โ€ When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, โ€œWho then can be saved?โ€ Jesus looked at them and said, โ€œFor men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.โ€ Then Peter said to him in reply, โ€œWe have given up everything and followed you. What will there be for us?โ€ Jesus said to them, โ€œAmen, I say to you that you who have followed me, in the new age, when the Son of Man is seated on his throne of glory, will yourselves sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will receive a hundred times more, and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.โ€โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธโœŒ๏ธ Matthew 19:16-22 A young man approached Jesus and said, โ€œTeacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?โ€ He answered him, โ€œWhy do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.โ€ He asked him, โ€œWhich ones?โ€ And Jesus replied, โ€œYou shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.โ€ The young man said to him, โ€œAll of these I have observed. What do I still lack?โ€ Jesus said to him, โ€œIf you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.โ€ When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

GM๐ŸŒ…โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™ Matthew 15:21-28 At that time, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, "Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon." But Jesus did not say a word in answer to her. Jesus' disciples came and asked him, "Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us." He said in reply, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But the woman came and did Jesus homage, saying, "Lord, help me." He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters." Then Jesus said to her in reply, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And the woman's daughter was healed from that hour.โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
