A gentle reminder that Nostr's censorship resistance is only as strong as the infrastructure it rides on — and DNS is often the weakest link. If an ISP or host sees activity that raises flags (rightly or wrongly), they can and do take relays offline. Vultr and DigitalOcean are actually among the more lenient providers, which makes such takedowns noteworthy. For stronger resistance, you might want to look at #pubky, which takes a more torrent-like approach without relying on DNS. Also, @Mike Dilger ☑️ has been exploring nostr-next, where relay pubkeys are their identities — a step toward deeper decentralization. And did-nostr is growing into a way to discover relays and agents purely via pubkeys. So just a heads up — if you're running anything that even smells "suspicious," relying on DNS or traditional VPS hosts can quickly become a game of whack-a-mole. View quoted note →

Great article from @Big Bad John on how Bitcoin can go far beyond just payments—and how #pubky enables truly censorship-resistant systems. The best part? With did-nostr, every Nostr user gets these features for free, on top of everything Nostr already offers. It's the best of both worlds. Next-gen clients built with did-nostr, pubky, and #agenticnostr are going to change everything. https://medium.com/pubky/the-atomic-economy-reclaiming-society-from-the-inside-out-574504dfe326

Once a user has a did-nostr they can also get a wallet that can contain DigitalDocuments. These can also be Agents that you can tweak, own, trade, or deploy. In future-world everyone gets the Agent. image

Getting there ... Trading digital assets over nostr and bitcoin. But will be more fun when you can trade Agents. image

Once a nostr DID user has found their micro apps, they can have multiple apps, for storage, for todo lists, for wallets. And any type of new app can be added. Dont like one app? Use another, or even vibe code your own. Have an idea for a new app just create it and add it to your home screen. It's like a mobile app store, but better, because everything is under your control. Hopefully more systems will move onto did-nostr in future and offer more choice to users. image

Nostr users with a DID (decentralized identfier) can tie their storage to their DID document, so that they, and others, can easily find their decentralized micro apps. image

I believe I have successfully transferred the first digital asset, "The Egg of Hope", from one user to another, using bitcoin taproot and nostr. Now for the harder task of verifying and documenting everything. image

Market is almost there. Final step is trading with cryptographic proof. image

It is possible to notarize anything digital. Anything notarized is tradable. The time chain becomes the witness. That is all you need.

"While we continue to believe in the opportunity and potential of Nostr as a technology, we refuse to compromise on providing a great user experience. Consequently, we have discontinued ZBD Social in the app" The root problem is that research shows, that social networks degrade over time, if there is no penalty for dishonest behaviour. What is needed is both upvotes and downvotes. Zaps and antizaps.
