why would you nuke it. There is no reason to nuke it.
yes there is a good reason, i ran out of disk space
You should of charged a couple of Satoshi to simply connect to your relay. That would of kept all the scammers and bots away and your relay would of never filled up.
It filled up because there is too many freeloaders ruining your relay which affect the legit people.
no the point of the damus relay is that its open to anyone. We already have rate limiting which stops it from filling up too fast
THE NUKENING 2.0 IS UPON US.
The coolest part about all of this is that the Nostr protocol doesn’t even flinch. It just keeps working like nothing happened. That’s the beauty of it. Most users didn’t notice the first time, and they probably won’t notice this time either. Decentralized data is just that resilient. And that is fucking cool!

Why? Are you only using one relay? 😬
That's not acceptable. I saw tons of spam in your relay. It's always the free relays that are the problem.
Then don’t use it
no, just messing around, as i'm most of the times
Everyone get blastr ready to redeploy.
How much space? Disks are cheap. Can we mirror it or is it gone already?
I am backing it up to my machine at home and I'll upload a large ldjson file of the snapshot
i have about 630GB of space on the damus relay
you’ll be publishing the relay snapshot? I’ll want that
ya
I just bought 40 TB of disk for a few hundred dollars
Thanks to this I discovered a nasty bug 15min ago where our app wouldn't initialize when one of the explicit relays couldn't be connected to.
I love this shit.

when you figure out how to walk into linodes data center and install those then let me know
Fair enough. The offer to mirror still stands
If the data's online it would take about and hour
Wouldn't it be easier to just do a rolling, daily, hard-delete? So that you always maintain 6 months of data, or something?
strfry doesn’t really work that way
its just easier to reset a strfry db
