THE NUKENING 2.0 IS UPON US. The coolest part about all of this is that the Nostr protocol doesn’t even flinch. It just keeps working like nothing happened. That’s the beauty of it. Most users didn’t notice the first time, and they probably won’t notice this time either. Decentralized data is just that resilient. And that is fucking cool!

gonna take down the damus relay today for maintenance and to nuke it. I'll keep the profiles and contact lists.

He had to take down the relay because the HD got full. It goes to show that having a free relay fills up the relay with scammers and bots. Charging a couple of Satoshi to connect to it would of solved the scammers and bots problem and the HD would of never got full. Now the relay is down when I needed it most.
And I have a local nostr-rs-relay instance on my laptop and #Citrine 🍋 on my cell phone. Citrine is the most user-friendly personal relay, IMO because you can set a filter for what you want to download from where, and then click the "fetch events" button and it just goes relay-by-relay and pulls everything.
Damus has an interest in providing a working relay for its new users that start using the app no? It makes sense for it to not have barriers such as payments. Frankly it also just needs to provide that service for about a week or so, such that users can get up to speed and find relay footing elsewhere. The fact it is months today is just lucky because we are early. Atleast thats how i see it, but i have nothing to do with damus🤷‍♂️

yeah its just there to provide a reliable experience for damus users for day to day posts. there are no guarantees on retention. I would be skeptical of anyone making guarantees, even if paid.

This the only reason I’m here … that it’s a data universe that replicates the larger consciousness field. Reality is existence because all is perceived or the entities within it has their own awareness.
Will deleted all the notes stored on his relay. Even though it's a popular app, and his app is widely used, this doesn't hinder your experience. This didn’t break Nostr, because the protocol is decentralized and built to be resilient. Why? Most people connect to multiple relays. So even if one relay loses data, the content still exists on others. It’s mirrored across the network, not tied to any single point of failure. I hope this helps 😉
