Meshtastic Observation/Question: If I understand correctly, setting your roof node to client_base and favoriting your client_mute handheld causes the roof node to re-broadcast messages sent by the handheld without it counting against your hop count. I assume this doesn't work in reverse though because when I connect my phone directly to the roof node I see messages in its public channel that never made it to the handheld node. Also the public channel on my handheld regularly gets messages which seem like they were meant to be a reply to some other message that it never received. Not sure if something is misconfigured on my end or if this is due to an abundance of high-altitude nodes and people setting hop counts too high.

"I saw that." "What?" "What'dya see?! What'dya see?!" "He knows what I just saw." "What are you talking about?" "Where's the ambush, McCloskey?" "In Lincoln?"

Is it normal for a bitcoin miner to keep hashing when there's no internet access? I guess it would make sense if it's designed to be a heater that mines bitcoin, but what about in the case of a purpose-built miner where the extra heat isn't necessarily desired? Do the pros have systems in place to prevent their miners from sitting there wasting electricity, or do they just have multiple sources of internet access?

If those numbers are accurate, the place probably is haunted by the people who got screwed on the deal. - Cost $2M to build (1912 dollars) - Sisters sold it for $300K in 1926 - Apparently didn't even get the full $300K because the buyer defaulted after the 1929 stock market crash - Purchased by Skyline Swannanoa, Inc in 1944 for $60K

Love the idea but being what appears to be a first-gen product, I'd feel a lot better if it was something you could lease, that way it's the owner's headache if it stops working. View quoted note →

Set up the wife with a Meshtastic node. She said we need to work on our marketing because "meshtastic node" sounds like bad news you'd get from a doctor after an x-ray 🤣

Two-way radio will have you questioning the sanity of the people who created the English language. For example, 34% of the alphabet ends with the same 'eeee' sound (30% if you pronounce it 'zed' instead of 'zee'). A, J, and K sound dangerously similar. All letters are pronounced with one syllable except for 'W', which has to be special and in doing so, destroys the brevity of any acronym in which it is included. And the military phonetic version just makes things worse. 7% are represented by a single-syllable word, 23% are represented by a three-syllable word, one contains a hyphen (x-ray), and the letter Q is represented by the word Quebec, only you gotta pronounce it 'key-beck', which often tricks your brain into writing a K instead of a Q.
