That’s what you call a “good sweat” Never, ever, do you need to add oils to making pecan butter. Everything is contained inside. A good roast brings out the good stuff 🌞 image

Anyone in the south east USA have a large scale food processor? Looking for opportunities to scale up my #hodlbutter production. #asknostr

Last week at my local grocery store, I struck up a conversation with one of the employees restocking shelves. I was looking for boxes they might be discarding - always looking to reuse what I can. One thing led to another, and I ended up sharing with him what I make: #hodlbutter (pecan butter), #hodlbar (date bars), and chocolates. He was instantly curious. We exchanged numbers, and I promised to reach out when I had fresh hodlbars ready for him to try. Today, after his shift ended, we scheduled to meet up. I drove to his neighborhood, and we had a good chat. He tried the bar right then and there. "These are really good man, wow... Keebler or Nabisco would love these. I'm sure you sell a ton of these..." I laughed a bit. This was the perfect test though. Here was someone who knew nothing about me or my work, experiencing my food for the first time with completely fresh taste buds. It gave me renewed conviction about what I'm creating. He'd never tasted anything quite like it. I remembered him mentioning during our first conversation how much he loves soda. Knowing that context made his reaction even more meaningful - someone accustomed to processed sweetness discovering what well-crafted, honest food could taste like. It was clearly hitting him on a completely different level. It's really cool exposing people to thoughtfully made, creative food. It becomes an experience that transcends the ordinary. Food has this incredible power to bring people together, cutting through politics, beliefs, and ideologies to put the pure human element back at the forefront. It's proof of experience. Proof of taste. Proof of work. image
