Not a fan of Audible but I had a few credits left to use up. Discovered that a large number of The Great Courses are on there. Enjoying this one on what life was like for regular people throughout history. Hunter gatherer societies only worked 8-16 hours a week as their only needs were food. How much simpler would life be if we returned to that kind of focus? image

Homeschoolers/educators, do you know of any good self hosted resources? I know there’s Kiwix and Kolibri. My son loves geography at the moment and want to give him the opportunity to look at something like an online atlas. Would be cool if it could be self hosted. Also want to hear what other resources people would suggest outside of geography #asknostr

The truth is you need little to no supplements if you're eating natural food. I had an advert on Facebook for a fibre supplement that said the following: "Things you’d need to eat to hit your daily fibre target from one source: 🍠 Sweet potatoes (skin on): 8 🍌 Bananas: 10 🍏 Apples: 8 πŸ§… Onions: 20 πŸ₯‘ Avocados: 3 🫐 Blueberries: 8x cups πŸ₯„ Chia seeds: 6x table spoons 🫘 Lentils: 2 cups (400g) 🍞 Wholemeal bread: 15 slices" By making it one source they make it look really hard. In reality, the world around us contains all the things we need, in the right quantities to be healthy. It isn't HARD to get your daily fibre. The below will net you over the recommended amount of fibre: 🍠 1 Sweet Potato (3.75g) 🍌 1 Banana (3g) 🍏 1 Apple (3.75g) πŸ§… 1 Onion (1.5g) πŸ₯‘ 1 Avocado (10g) 🫐 1 cup Blueberries (3.75g) πŸ₯„ 1 tbsp Chia Seed (5g) Bonus points for the above that non of it contains inflammatory causing grains like the fibre bombs the food industry tries to push. Before you reach for a supplement, ask yourself, what changes to my diet could I make first? #foodforthought #foodstr #healthstr

Just got rid of my self-hosted git server. Don't really need it, just have bare repos on my homeserver that I ssh push/pull from now.

NotebookLM is a cool product but requires you to have a Gemini subscription and use its interface to query your document base. Currently working on a document system that will integrate with ChatGPT or Claude so you can talk about your documents directly within those systems

GM, Just over a week before I turn 31. 30 hasn’t turned out like I’d hoped but I also had to remind myself of what I’ve done already. Married, 3 kids, own a house, ahead in my career. I hoped that I would go self employed this last year and work on my own terms. Feel far from that yet but hope 31 is the year it happens. The key is discipline, something I lack a lot of. #plebchain

I foresee a future where a nation state that holds a substantial amount of Bitcoin can effectively avoid being invaded by threat of destroying their private keys
