Earnestness, effort, and passion are low status. Blasé confidence is high status. Your social status heuristics have a glaring failure mode. Taproot was the malicious soft fork attack. Now, there are three groups who want to gaslight you into thinking that it wasn’t. The financial industrial complex: those who funded the attack who want to either capture or kill Bitcoin. Developers: who made and pushed for the attack, who either won’t admit it was an attack because they want to maintain their power, funding, and status, or they were in on the maliciousness themselves. Influencers: who won’t admit it was an attack to save face and not look weak (despite their unwitting support for the attack) to maintain their access to devs, events, funding, and clout.

Remember when they were so very very concerned about miner centralization, but then never even said the word “DATUM”? Easy heuristic for finding bad actors.
