STRATEGY, BLACKROCK, COINBASE AND OTHERS LAUNCH $15 MILLION BITCOIN SECURITY CONSORTIUM 15 prominent companies have teamed up to launch the Bitcoin Security Consortium, pledging $15 million over the next three years to support Bitcoin’s long-term security. The initiative will help fund developers and researchers working on Bitcoin infrastructure, including post-quantum cryptography, while serving as a public resource on Bitcoin security. Coordinated by Brink Executive Director Mike Schmidt in a volunteer capacity, the consortium says it will not direct Bitcoin development or advocate for specific protocol changes, but instead provide funding and education while supporting the existing open-source ecosystem. Other companies involved include Anchorage Digital, ARK Invest, BlackRock, Block, Blockstream, Coinbase, Fidelity Digital Assets, and Galaxy. image
