In the early months of nostr there were a lot of bigger zaps flying around. I sent a ton of zaps in the thousands of sats, and even a few hundred thousand sat zaps. Now days people only flick pennies at each other and they do it less and less often. I don't know what changed. With the explosion in popularity of #Monero lately however that generosity seems to be revived. The amounts are significant and they fly around freely, but with meaning. People are tipping for meaningful posts. It's totally private and I think that's a good thing. If you feel like you need to get social credit for tipping someone, that says something about you as a person and it doesn't say anything good.

I learned in the army that the best way to deal with trauma is to smile and laugh through it. You develop a fucked up sense of humor that way. I've seen some fucked up shit. I saw a guy lose 3 limbs and his testicles and he was only 19. He lived. Me and some other fine people saved his life. I don't know what kind of life he ended up having with no legs, no balls, and only one arm, but at least he gets the chance to make the most of it. Hopefully he has Jesus in his life.
