Made it! Great to be back in bitcoin country.
2 years ago I spent sats for the first time in El Salvador.
Now I’m back and funding the trip with bitcoin I earned. Let’s go!
Received a proper “cavity search” going through TSA today.
It’s always interesting when other travelers see you opt out and the treatment you receive as a result.
I overheard one lady telling her friend she also likes to opt out, but was in a rush.
Less than 1% of people opt out of the face and body scanners.
Bitcoiners are opting out of the fiat system and imo we should opt out of the surveillance state as well.
If we don’t exercise our rights how can we expect to keep them?
One of my favorite poems:
“THE DASH”
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
From the beginning…to the end
He noted that first came the date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them
Know what that little line is worth
For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering this special dash
Might only last a little while
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash…
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent YOUR dash?
I have a very hard time believing the government can send a $2000 “tariff dividend” to every single person without printing.
100 million checks = $200 billion. The stated tariff revenue is $195 billion…
However, I will give it to them it’s a great strategy going into midterms to regain some support after losing almost all of it over Israel/Epstein this year.
Rode the bike to the Bitcoin Walk today.
Had some fantastic conversations… great ideas brewing…
The only gripe I have is the egregious high altitude aerosol spraying that took away one of our precious Fall bluebird days here in the PNW.
It’s the same grift. Dependent on the people being fearful.
Now the USGov is starting a war on drugs outside of our country… with a nation that doesn’t even produce the drugs.
Insanity
Pretty wild thinking back to the decision to build on bitcoin. March 8th I made my first Nostr post, April 4th I was at the halving party in El Salvador…
Grateful for everyone who has supported my journey and it’s just getting started.
Since then I’ve been to more than a dozen bitcoin conferences, several circular economies and tons of meetups.
Next week I will give a talk on tapping into our inherent creativity and living on a bitcoin standard at Adopting Bitcoin in El Salvador.
Onward!
Your journey to understand bitcoin starts when you become a critical thinker.
For me it took almost 10 years from the day I started to question everything to the day it “clicked” that bitcoin is freedom money.
In almost all cases, you must take the red pill before you take the orange pill.
I know it’s cringe to tell anyone what to engage with on Nostr, but….
If we want Nostr to grow we bitcoiners should engage with non-bitcoin related content here.
Anyone finding Nostr who isn’t a bitcoiner is here for a reason- whether they understand it or not.
Just did my own oil change for the first time. 15 years of driving and I’ve always trusted someone else to do my oil changes.
My last vehicle’s life came to an end when a professional mechanic overfilled my oil and led to a busted head gasket.
I’ve realized that being handy and having basic skills is critical in a number of future scenarios, which is part of why I have been learning how to do things myself and not hire someone else, even if it takes me more time or economically my time would be better spent working.
Stack sats and stack skills is the way.
The future hangs in the balance. CBDCs and centralization or bitcoin and decentralization.
New episode with Bulgarian bitcoin educator, author and podcaster Ivan Ivanoff
The hardest part about creating is just making the time and space for it. You can’t get into a flow state before you put yourself in the chair or the place where you create.
