We have 3 children. Our oldest son 26, moved out, and married. The other two, teenagers still living at home. Hayden (16 yrs. old) cut this out of an oak board with a hole saw, then sanded it. After Sophia (13 yrs. old), with help from mom, painted it he put a coat of polyurethane on it. GM. Sunday. A day off. Tomorrow too! Tuesday back to the mail trail. On Friday I delivered thank you cards to customers that left gifts in their mailboxes for me. Some it was cash, others cookies and baked goods, and a few boxes of chocolates too! It's always nice to be appreciated. One guy gave me $50. His wife passed away recently. I think of him often, alone a lot in his house now. Sometimes he will wait for me by his mailbox. Sometimes he's confused. Nothing out of the ordinary though. I get the same way. He's always thankful. I was reading the Battle of Arjuna this morning. It's a mythological tale. There's wisdom in it. It reminded me again of who I really am. It's one of the easiest things to forget. What I took away from it this time is that before we are born we are invisible. After we die, too. But in between we are seen. GM! It's 12 out there. I haven't looked outside yet. I leave for the mail trail in 20 minutes. When I ran last night, around 8 PM, it was cloudy. Yet I still didn't need a headlamp to see. The glow from the moon still reflected off the snow. I think today is the Full Moon. Yesterday I saw people posting pictures of it though. It seems like this happens every full moon. GM. It's 6:05 AM. Fire burns hot in front of me. It's back to the mail trail today and tomorrow. Then Sunday and Monday off. It's -1 out there. Next week they are talking 30's. Some warmth this time of year amidst single digits and snow is welcome. Atleast in my eyes. The roads melt off. The snow banks in front of mail boxes soften and retreat. One thing that draws me to Bitcoin is the longing for meaningful time. In other words, I want to live a meaningful life. And I hear this expressed again and again by other Bitcoiners. It's been that way since I started trading dollars for it. That was close to 4 years ago. All we got is our time. It's precious. At 51 I feel the weight of it more and more. Lately, again, I find myself reading random passages out of "Time and The Soul," by Jacob Needleman. This morning I ran across this passage. I offer it to Bitcoiners and beyond. Hopefully it will help us get one step closer to getting our time and meaning back. "We have cut off the time of the heart from the time of the physical world. It is an artificial separation. When ancient peoples--cultures still informed by the old wisdom--spoke of time as a cycle, it was because the drama of the heart and the life of nature and matter we're not isolated from each other. Science gave us our mastery over nature by cutting away the time of the heart. We live in inorganic time. We can no more master inorganic time than we can walk through solid matter. Our flesh cannot penetrate this kind of time. Time as we know it is no more or less than solid matter extended and attenuated."
