An Earthy Easter Story We had Easter at Grandma's house yesterday. Four miles from here as the crow flies. She has a lot of plants growing from our native plant nursery. It didn't get much above 40 during the day. We woke up to a light blanket of snow that mostly melted off from the morning sun. In other words, it gets wintery yet. Sorting mail I found out. The address started out ,"To the family of ." He was my neighbor. After he had his stroke and fell. I'd visit with him. He'd pay my son and I for work he needed done. Last fall was the last time we saw him. He said come over and visit anytime. It doesn't have to be for work. Just the other day I say out loud I need to get over and see him. He's just across the road. Gone now. Two weeks ago already. That's what the obituary said after I saw the letter and googled it. How could I have not known.? He was just across the road.
