UK Digital ID Farce
The debate was held in Westminster Hall NOT the main House of Commons...
ai: "Westminster Hall, which is a secondary, parallel debating chamber mainly used for backbench or petitions-led debates and does not itself change the law or force a government decision. It still matters politically, but it is generally lower profile, more exploratory and less formal in procedural terms than business in the main chamber."

Petitions - UK Government and Parliament
Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.
The government are pushing ahead regardless of the peoples will... look at the the original petition that a record 3 million people signed.
They issued their response to the public poll on 2nd October BEFORE any debate... clearly a move to shut down the momentum of the petition... and a statement that a decision (by decree/fiat) has already made.

The debate that took place on Monday can be seen here:

It's promising to see the amount of MP's standing against Digital ID's... maybe they're starting to wake up and seeing the totalitarian state they've created.
