Hate how I have to tip-toe around conversations with family and friends whenever Bitcoin is relevant and should be brought up

The film industry worried about AI. They’re already losing out hard to gaming. My kid, and many others I see, aren’t interested in watching a movie anywhere near as much as playing a video game

How does my @primal feed work? Should I see every post from my follows in chronological order? I seem to see posts from less than half my follows regularly, and the majority that are leftover rarely

I collect things with no sentimental value, speculating on future return, now realising the nominal gains and how illiquid they are. WTF am I doing?!

Start of the end of Core. It’s probably a timely reminder that the devs and process needs improvement if handling the worlds MONEY

@Jameson Lopp Can you help me to understand something regarding illegal content added to OP_Return? If I’m running a node and I have the 80b limit, an entity trying to get something larger into a block has to go to a miner because my node will filter it out, right? Does that mean the miner would have to make a decision on whether or not to add the content? Making them a sort of vetting body? I can’t image any miner would willingly add illegal content regardless the financial benefit.

If someone asks me what makes Bitcoin valuable? I ask them what makes gold valuable? 9 times out of 10 they have no idea or can’t explain it. They just blindly accept that it is for some reason

Response from my superannuation fund when asked when they will include a spot Bitcoin ETF in their self managed product: “We curate the ETF menu offered through (product name) annually through a review that is carried out by LONSEC. We will consider your request during future review, however, we have no immediate plans to introduce a bitcoin ETF considering among other things that crypto ETFs have only been recently introduced in the Australian market and have a short track record Superannuation trustees are required to exercise due diligence in offering investment options under s52(6) of the SIS Act, and this includes externally managed ‘choice’ products such as ETFs. Additionally, APRA has stated that it expects to implement new requirements around crypto-assets at some point in 2025. These may provide greater clarity and further considerations for trustees.”

I know a 64yo gentleman who is about to come into a large inheritance. He is fixated on buying a parcel of land in a regional area that MAY benefit from a future high-speed rail line and subdivision. It’s a very long play with no certainty. “It’s not for me, it’s for my children and grandchildren”. Nice sentiment but seems way riskier than simply upgrading your home and buying a chunk of Bitcoin.

Really enjoyed this episode. Especially thoughts on how we function and govern as humans in an AI world @less @walker @THE Bitcoin Podcast Maybe we can all have whatever jobs are left over but shared amongst us to the point that we only work 5-10 hours a week? Weekends are no longer a thing, and businesses can operate 24/7?

People don’t care about Bitcoin in the same way I dismiss the countless life hacks that pop up in my feeds. I just can’t be fukd
