I'm continuing to explore Nostr's capabilities to be a YouTube alternative. There are two potential clients that get the job done: "Nostube" and "Plebs". Both are desktop-only clients at the moment. They look nice enough and are easy to navigate. Needless to say that content is still missing. I do not self-host my videos. This is mainly because we live off-grid in a tiny home with patchy internet connection. I want to change that soonest. But since this will be the default for many new people coming to Nostr, it's nice to see how this can work. My Nostr webspace is running on Primal and Nostr.Build subscription. There's lots of room to optimize this with the relay management etc. ... but I didn't have to energy to look into it further. It works for now. I do like the uploader and navigation on "Plebs", but for some reason it gave me an error when loading my latest 16-minute video. So, I tried "Nostube" which had no problem with it. "Nostube" also shows all my uploaded videos in a nicely organized fashion. "Plebs" on the other hand is a bit selfish and only shows videos I uploaded with "Plebs". I also cannot find Nostr profiles for "Plebs" nor "Nostube". If you do, please share! So, as usual, Nostr gives you these mild headaches when you just want to get your things done ... and you stumble upon all this little weirdness that steals your time. BUT after all, it kinda works and I was able to share on the legacy socials that my video is also available on Nostr ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ You can check out my 15-minute guided Wim Hof breathing session here on "Nostube". Yes, the link is long and ugly. There's no option to retrieve an embedding or NoteID or something like that:
What a powerful breathing session today! I would have spaced out as a participant ๐Ÿ˜† 150+ people on a perfect early summer day. Wim Hof's first visit to Greece. And it looks like this event's going to become an annual tradition โ˜€๏ธ #wimhof #greece #athens #breathwork #breathing
My Wim Hof Morning Routine This is my preferred Wim Hof breathing and stretching routine in the morning. There's no fixed structure to follow though. In the course of your practice, for example following the Wim Hof Fundamentals video course, you'll get to know your mind and body better and better. And over time you'll find out how you prefer to do your breathing exercise, when to do your cold plunges and what stretching you like to add to your routine. Of course you can also adjust depending on how you feel and what's going on that day. Try not to miss making it a daily habit though. Your future self will thank you! Get to know the Wim Hof method in real life and community during my workshops and retreats: Or use below link to get the Wim Hof Fundamentals video course online. Calm Down Breathing When your monkey mind doesn't want to stop spinning. And your resting heart rate doesn't look much like resting. Then this is a simple and effective way of breathing, that will calm you down sufficiently, so you can move on. Long exhalations activate your parasympathetic nervous system, stimulate your vagus nerve and make you relax. This quick breathing hack is also part of the Wim Hof Fundamentals course: Experience it in real life, join the community in my latest Wim Hof Method workshops and events ๐Ÿ‘‡ https://plebs.app/#/video/678cbc6eed0e144cbccd65465b4e5a4f1c57cdca00050b6f91a666c645760cc7
Nobody Likes the Cold. Freedom Lies Beyond Like and Dislike. Nobody really likes the cold at first. But once you overcome your initial resistances, you realize that the cold is your calm teacher. The point is to go beyond "like" and "dislike". That's what will set you free. I go through this with a cold shower outside in winter January ;) Watch the full video on YouTube. This is Greece ... and this, too. All practically right next to each other. ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒŠ
It's so good to see this app already working so well! I was looking for an open source, private notes app for use across devices and systems with similar convenience such as Google Keep for a long time. Joplin was the closest, but the syncing issues often got frustrating. Manent just works fast and quick and is based on Nostr, how cool is that?! Most important next features for me: - Shorter overview display of notes (grid or list view) as not to scroll up and down forever; - Organization of notes with tags Looking forward to seeing how it'll shape up in the time to come ๐Ÿ™ @daniele View quoted note โ†’
