The common people of Rome (plebs) were aware of a major shift happening for multiple decades before their eyes, and yet most were still clinging to the eternal glory of Rome.
Rewatching Gladiator and its sequel will make that even clearer.
The fall of Rome is marked at 476 AD, while the events in Gladiator are some ~300years earlier, around 180 AD.

Bitcoin ⚡️
I’m so grateful to have found bitcoin.
What did it for me, aside from the strength of the network, was realizing that it was a language to exchange value.
You can’t ban a language from being used.
Deep down, Dave Ramsey is a bitcoiner.
He just doesn't know it yet.
He preaches living below your means and saving your way to wealth, while being a productive member of society and staying away from irresponsible debt...
Felt the need to do something outside of my comfort zone.
Decided to start every day with 50 pull ups.
5 every minute.
10 mins.
No warm up required.
Day 2 of 2 ✅
Will post updates.
bitcoin + nostr = happy friday
Whenever you find yourself stuck mentally, get a physical activity in.
Walk, run, bike, lift weights…
Start a 20 min clock and move.
Get out of your head and get in your body.
How can I post articles to the reads section?
every time I say “it’s too complicated” what I really should say is “I don’t understand it well enough to explain it to you simply enough”
but why take accountability when I can blame something for being what it is, right?

The main thing preventing people from spending bitcoin is the tax implications.
Something about taxes feels illogical to…
You spend about 2,000 hours a year working, and at the end of the year you have to give ~20% back to the government (sometimes +50%)
And also pay taxes on anything you buy, including your house…?
Doesn’t make sense.
Also, why pay taxes to an entity that can print money to fund itself?
There’s gotta be something I’m missing…
Anyone running their own Nostr relay? Debating whether I should do it.
If you’re reading this and have any tips, pros/cons, please share!
Education around bitcoin and the current state of money is one of the biggest hurdles we need to clear for mass adoption.
Don’t get me wrong, bitcoin is winning. But hear me out:
Had a conversation with a client (Boomer/GenX), bitcoin came up…
He said he’ll buy-in when he’s ready, could be next month could be in 6, doesn’t matter if the price is $85k or $112k.
But right now he’s got a lot going on (and he does)… he simply doesn’t want to impulsively buy…
I respect that.
He then followed that up saying
“I don’t want a fraction of a bitcoin, I’m way past that”…
It got me wondering: is this how boomers view bitcoin? Like another stock you invest in while it’s on the rise? Do they still believe we live under a gold standard?
There is a whole generation of 60+ year olds who only hear about bitcoin on CNBC and other networks…
We need to step in and change that.
Each one teach one.
Bitcoin will win regardless.
With education, we can bring more people onboard.
And that’s how human civilization wins ultimately.
One day I will tell my children that the US credit rating was downgraded and that people still didnt believe in bitcoin
Sats, microbits… let the market decide what jargon to use.
To this day I still need to google which one is the nickel or the penny…

My friend and mentor encouraged me to look into Sparrow Wallet and watch @BTC Sessions tutorial video for the @COLDCARD within a week of my first buy.
I’ll forever be grateful.
this knots vs core war is making my head spin
been running knots since I first got a node bc i want to get a bitaxe and mine to ocean and am now questioning everything… im skeptical about everything
@Luke Dashjr has actual beef with core devs for some stolen btc and other stuff?
@Jameson Lopp who i thought was so cool for the seed plate review website is apparently not so cool and has conflicts of interest?
@Shinobi who i thought was cool just decides to yap about anything he believes in and call everyone a piece of shit, and pretends we dont all know bitcoin is a database
@Wicked trolling “knotzis” which is clever and funny and also annoying
and some of the most reputable names in the space have various opinions and takes on this matter (like @_Checkɱate 🔑⚡🌋☢️🛢️ @Matthew Kratter @DETERMINISTIC OPTIMISM 🌞 @ODELL )
do we have like a press release or something to share status updates like: “although the community is not in full agreement, we are merging this PR in the next release… feel free to run older versions of the software, your node your choice”
this seems to be a bigger challenge than just hodling thru bear markets
